About this role

B2B contract

Location: Poland - Warsaw / Łódź / Poznań / Kraków / Wrocław

Working model: Hybrid

Contract: B2B

Rate: 120-160 PLN/hour

We are growing GFT Business Consulting in Poland and are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong banking knowledge and a client-facing mindset.

You will work on international banking transformation and technology programmes across Poland, Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East and potentially Western Europe.

Our main focus is Retail Banking. Experience in areas such as payments, cards, deposits and accounts, onboarding, lending, digital banking or customer journeys is highly valued.

This is not a role focused only on documenting requirements. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of a business analysis workstream, build trust with the client, challenge assumptions and help move a topic from problem definition to an implementable solution.

What you will do

- Lead business analysis for a product, domain or major workstream end-to-end.

- Work directly with client business, product, technology and architecture stakeholders.

- Gather, analyse and structure business and functional requirements.

- Translate business needs into processes, capabilities, user stories, acceptance criteria and clear analysis outputs.

- Facilitate workshops, interviews and discovery sessions with business and technology stakeholders.

- Analyse current-state products, processes and customer journeys and help define future-state solutions.

- Challenge requirements and solution assumptions when evidence or business outcomes point to a better approach.

- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, architects, developers, testers and delivery teams.

- Support scope definition, prioritisation, estimates and solution options.

- Identify delivery, design and dependency risks early and actively drive resolution.

- Review analysis deliverables and help maintain strong quality standards.

- Support and mentor less experienced analysts where needed.

- Use AI-enabled tools to accelerate research, analysis, requirements work and knowledge synthesis.

What we are looking for

- Typically 5+ years of relevant commercial experience in business analysis or a closely related role.

- Strong hands-on experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst or Product-oriented Business Analyst.

- Proven experience in banking or financial services - this is a must.

- Good understanding of banking products, processes and operating models.

- Experience in at least one Retail Banking area such as payments, cards, deposits/accounts, onboarding/KYC, lending/credit or digital banking.

- Ability to independently manage an analysis workstream and deliver high-quality outputs.

- Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.

- Confidence working directly with clients and presenting recommendations.

- Ability to structure ambiguous problems and turn them into clear next steps.

- Very good English and strong communication skills.

- Experience working with technology and delivery teams in Agile environments.

Nice to have

- Experience across more than one Retail Banking product area.

- Core banking transformation or migration experience.

- Knowledge of platforms such as Thought Machine, Mambu, Flexcube, Temenos/T24 or similar.

- API, integration and data-modelling awareness.

- BPMN / UML.

- SQL sufficient to support analysis.

- Product Owner or product discovery experience.

- Consulting experience.

- Experience with international banking clients, especially in CEE or the Middle East.

- Practical experience using generative AI in business analysis or software delivery.

You will probably enjoy this role if...

You like talking to clients as much as analysing requirements. You are comfortable entering situations where not everything is defined yet and you naturally ask why before documenting the solution.

When something is unclear or blocked, your instinct is to take ownership and move it forward.
