Commercial Manager
Location: Cairo, Egypt
Reporting to: Head of Finance & Administration NEW Africa
The Opportunity
As Commercial Manager, Egypt , you will play a critical role in driving commercial performance, distribution excellence, and sustainable business growth across the Egyptian market. Acting as a key business partner across Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, and external stakeholders, you will lead sales planning, forecasting, tender management, distributor governance, and commercial execution to ensure the achievement of business objectives while maximizing market performance and operational effectiveness.
Role & Responsibilities
• Drive achievement of annual Ex-Factory and In-Market sales objectives in line with business strategy and market needs.
• Manage relationships and performance across wholesalers, distributors, and sub-distributors to optimize distribution and market coverage.
• Ensure appropriate stock levels, product availability, and effective demand planning across the distribution network.
• Lead sales forecasting, long-term planning, and budgeting processes, including sales, commissions, free goods, samples, and expiries.
• Support annual target setting, long-term financial planning, and management reporting for key therapy areas.
• Manage commercial agreements, sales campaigns, sell-in/sell-out initiatives, credit limits, cash collection, and customer profitability.
• Lead end-to-end tender management, including tender submissions, pricing proposals, distributor coordination, and order execution.
• Analyze monthly sales performance, market trends, and business results to provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Collaborate with third-party partners to ensure product availability, distribution effectiveness, and execution excellence.
• Oversee the renewal of distribution and commercial agreements while ensuring effective utilization of forecasting and reporting systems.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
• Managerial or team leadership experience is an advantage.
• Experience in distributor, wholesaler, or customer management.
• Strong experience in commercial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and sales performance management.
• Knowledge of tender management, contract management, and commercial operations.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to translate data into business insights.
• Proven project management and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English, with a customer-focused mindset and a strong ability to prioritize, innovate, and drive results.
