Location/Office Policy: Molesworth Street, Dublin 2. This is an office-centric role operating within AIB’s hybrid working model, subject to the needs of the role, our customers and the business.

What is the Role?

This is a senior leadership role within Group Financial Crime Compliance, responsible for the governance, risk assessment, management information and reporting capabilities that support effective second-line oversight of Financial Crime risk across AIB Group. You will lead a specialist team, provide clear insight and challenge to senior governance forums, and support the Group MLRO in maintaining a robust, evidence-based Financial Crime Compliance framework. The role provides a unique opportunity to influence the Bank’s Financial Crime strategy, regulatory readiness and control environment at a time of significant regulatory change.

Key Accountabilities:

- Lead the Financial Crime Compliance Governance & Reporting team and set clear priorities, standards and expectations for delivery.

- Own and continuously enhance the Group Financial Crime risk assessment approach, including the methodology, governance, evidence base and alignment with risk appetite and control assessments.

- Lead the production of high-quality Financial Crime management information and reporting for senior management, executive and Board governance, ensuring that key risks, trends, issues and outcomes are clearly articulated.

- Oversee second-line coordination, review and challenge of regulatory reporting and supervisory submissions relevant to Financial Crime, including data definitions, lineage, reconciliation and governance.

- Maintain effective Financial Crime governance arrangements, issue and action oversight, escalation processes and reporting across the Group and relevant subsidiaries.

- Use internal and external intelligence, regulatory developments and performance data to identify emerging risks, thematic issues and opportunities to strengthen the control framework.

- Lead and support regulatory engagements, inspections and examinations, ensuring responses are accurate, evidenced and delivered to the required standard.

- Partner across Compliance, Risk, the First Line, Data, Technology and Group entities to simplify governance, improve reporting capability and deliver sustainable control enhancements.

- Support and deputise for the Group MLRO at senior internal and external fora, as required, and contribute to the wider leadership and strategic direction of Group Financial Crime Compliance.

What You Will Bring:

- Significant senior-level experience in Financial Crime Compliance, AML/CFT, risk management, governance, regulatory reporting or assurance within financial services.

- A strong understanding of Financial Crime regulatory requirements and supervisory expectations, together with the ability to translate them into practical governance, risk assessment and reporting arrangements.

- Proven experience leading and developing a specialist team and delivering through competing priorities and material change.

- Strong analytical judgement, with the ability to assess complex data and risk information, reach defensible conclusions and communicate the implications clearly.

- Experience engaging with senior management, Boards, regulators and a wide range of business, risk, data and technology stakeholders.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce concise, decision-focused reporting for senior audiences.

- Relevant professional membership or qualification in compliance, Financial Crime, risk, accountancy, law or a related discipline.
