Overview
As a Lead Press Operator, you will support Brightstar Lottery's production operations by setting up, operating, and monitoring advanced flexographic printing presses used to manufacture instant lottery tickets. You will help maintain safe, efficient production while meeting established quality, security, and operational standards. This role works 12-hour shifts, may rotate across stations as required, and will be located onsite in Lakeland, Florida.
What You'll Do
- Interpret job sheets and production specifications to ensure accurate press setup and execution.
- Select anilox rolls, print sleeves, substrates, inks, and other materials based on production requirements.
- Prepare ink vats, load inks, and adjust pH and viscosity levels to meet quality standards.
- Monitor press performance, web inspection cameras, strobes, registration, and print quality throughout production runs.
- Operate unwind systems, manage substrate flow, and load or unload sleeves, rolls, and production materials.
- Record production metrics, collect quality samples, and tag rolls for accurate identification and inventory control.
- Follow all safety, quality, security, environmental, and operational procedures while supporting workflow continuity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years of related mechanical, manufacturing, or printing experience.
- Hands-on experience operating industrial production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to established quality standards.
- Mechanical aptitude and confidence working with industrial equipment.
- Demonstrated success following detailed procedures and production workflows.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is required
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Printing trade school education or related technical training.
- Flexographic press operation experience.
- High-volume manufacturing background.
- Regulated production environment exposure.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Physical Requirements
- Remain standing or walking throughout 12-hour production shifts.
- Regularly lift 20–40 pounds and use team lifting or approved equipment for items exceeding 50 pounds.
- Perform bending, reaching, twisting, and material-handling activities throughout the shift.
- Utilize hand tools and complete repetitive tasks safely and accurately.
- Work around noise, heat, inks, paper dust, moving equipment, and other production conditions.
- Visually inspect printed or packaged materials with accuracy.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range for this role is $35.00 per hour. The actual pay offered may be higher or lower. The Company complies with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is one part of our Total Rewards program. Non-exempt roles are eligible for irregular discretionary bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
