Fryer Operator
Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Fryer Operator to join our food manufacturing and production team. The Fryer Operator is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, adjusting, and cleaning the cooker/fryer line throughout the production process.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, self-motivated, and able to maintain close attention to equipment and product quality throughout the workday. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced food production environment and follow strict food safety and sanitation procedures .
Responsibilities
- Start up and safely operate the cooker/fryer line according to established procedures.
- Set and adjust slicers at the beginning of each production day.
- Monitor the cooker throughout production and make adjustments as needed to maintain proper operation and product quality.
- Keep the salter properly filled during production.
- Assist with product rework when production needs allow.
- Safely shut down the cooker at the end of the frying process.
- Clean the cooker and surrounding equipment at the end of each production day.
- Perform cooker boil-outs and polish the exterior of the cooker as needed to remove grease buildup.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality requirements outlined in company procedures, manuals, and training.
- Perform preventative maintenance on the cooker line, including greasing, oiling, and other routine maintenance tasks.
- Assist with auxiliary cleaning and other production-related tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Identify and report equipment issues or potential safety concerns.
- Follow all company safety procedures and operating standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, food production, machine operation, fryer operation, or industrial manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to operate a tow motor/forklift .
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation and preventative maintenance.
- Ability to closely monitor, adjust, and clean production equipment throughout the workday.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including food safety procedures.
- Self-motivated with the ability to stay productive during both production and non-production periods.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
This position is physically active and requires the ability to:
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds .
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Sit, bend, turn, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
- Climb and safely use stairs.
- Work around production equipment and in a food manufacturing environment.
- Safely operate a tow motor/forklift.
