About Our Family

We're a busy family with two energetic boys who keep life moving at full speed. Between school drop-offs at two different campuses, tackle football and soccer practices, and two parents with demanding careers, our evenings have a way of slipping through our fingers before we've had a chance to just be with our kids and enjoy our time together as a family.

We rely on each other and on nearby family when we can, but we are ready to find meaningful support to lift some of the load and give us the gift of time back. We're easygoing, genuinely open to new ideas, and not looking to micromanage anyone.

What we are looking for is someone who understands what a household with two rambunctious boys actually looks and feels like, and who notices the seemingly small details that can create calm amidst the chaos and make things run a little smoother so our evenings can belong to us again.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

The right person for this role will:

- Anticipate the next household need and take initiative without a to‑do list
- Stay organized, proactive, and take pride in keeping a household running smoothly
- Understand and adapt to a household with two boys, who just like to “be boys”
- Accept feedback well and contribute ideas to improve how things run
- Speak up confidently with proactive suggestions before being asked
- Balance building relationships and communication when it matters with working independently the majority of the time
- Take a systematic approach to managing the flow of the household (e.g. meal prep and inventory management) to stay ahead of day-to-day needs

Key Responsibilities

Meal Support

- Prepare 3–5 dinners per week, ranging from ingredient prep and partial execution to full meal preparation depending on the evening's schedule (e.g. slow cooker or low effort for sports nights)
- Process and prep produce for school lunches and required school snacks; ensure sandwich staples and healthy items are stocked and ready to go
- Batch prep healthy breakfast and snack options (muffins, protein balls, cut fruit, etc.) to reduce reliance on processed foods and make mornings easier
- Batch prepare proteins and other lunch options for parents to pack throughout the week
- As trust builds, take a more active role in weekly meal planning
- Maintain a tidy, organized kitchen at all times

Inventory & Errands

- Manage pantry and household supply inventory: monitor and proactively restock items running low, prevent overbuying unnecessary items, and replenish household goods throughout the home
- Maintain a shared running shopping list and execute in-person grocery shopping, including Costco runs
- Handle Amazon returns, dry cleaning drop-off, and other miscellaneous errands (teacher gifts, etc.) as requested
- Bring in mail and packages; break down and recycle boxes

Household Organization & Maintenance

- Perform daily resets and tidying of high-traffic areas: load and unload dishes, wipe surfaces, and vacuum high-traffic areas
- Prep the home for bi-weekly cleaners
- Create and maintain household organizational systems that can evolve with the family as needs change
- Maintain the mudroom: shoes, sports equipment, and daily gear organized and under control
- Keep the kitchen island and countertops clear, sorted, and functional
- Manage seasonal clothing swaps for the kids as sizes and seasons change
- Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs as needed
- Assist with preparations for family gatherings on occasion

Laundry & Linens

- Collaborate with the family to ensure laundry is being rotated as needed throughout the day and assist with folding and organizing as requested
- Manage cleaning and rotation of linens, towels, and sheets
- Keep the laundry area tidy and well stocked

Vehicle Upkeep

- Schedule routine maintenance for family vehicles (oil changes, etc.)
- Coordinate and be on-site for professional vehicle detailing

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

- Tackle ongoing organizational projects, including: pantry, mudroom, linen closet, junk drawers, kids' closets
- Manage rotating monthly deep cleaning tasks (e.g. baseboards, oven, refrigerator, wood floors), either performing or or sourcing and overseeing a deep cleaning service on a regular cadence

Family Support

- Serve as backup for school pick-up and drop-off as needed once trust is established
- Support the boys' routines and serve as a backup check on backpack prep, sports gear, and school readiness (the boys own their own routines — this is a supportive role, not an ownership one)
- Provide light supervision on school days off, as needed and as the trust develops

Vendor & Property Oversight

- Oversee existing vendors (cleaners, landscapers, contractors) and serve as the point of contact when needed
- Research new vendors, gather quotes, and make recommendations
- Proactively track and execute home maintenance needs: furnace filter changes every six months, light bulbs, batteries, smoke detectors, and other routine upkeep
- Develop and manage a home maintenance calendar; get appointments scheduled and follow through (window cleaning, HVAC, etc.)
- Manage outdoor seasonal transitions: bring planter boxes in/out, cover and maintain outdoor furniture, coordinate exterior upkeep as needed

Administrative & Family Support

- Maintain calendar awareness; anticipate upcoming needs (gifts, events, school days off, etc.) and flag them proactively
- Support travel planning: research flights and hotels, present options, and once approved, execute bookings and create packing lists for the whole family; assist with unpacking after family trips
- Track and organize receipts for employee expenses
