Job Description:
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Operate Fork Lift truck to perform transportation assignments in the Upper Warehouse. Load/Unload and sort incoming packaging material and maintain related records as required. Receive coils as required.
DUTIES:
1) Receive aluminum coils.
2) Receive, record and store items as required.
3) Check, count, identify and record all items received/loaded.
4) Unload/ load pallets, tier sheets, top frames, packaging materials, etc.
5) Sort top frames, pallets and tier sheets cutting out defective material as per Company standards and requirements.
6) Move pallets and packaging materials into and out of designated areas.
7) Maintain waste management area moving drums and packaging materials, in and out of designated areas as required.
8) Arrange for loads of recycled and waste materials to be picked up and/or property disposed of.
9)Responsible for the drum/ tote chemicals storage areas ensuring areas are clean and orderly.
10) Move cans from Lower to Upper warehouse as required.
11) Take periodic inventories of packaging material and various supplies.
12) Responsible for steel, wood, cardboard and waste compactor ensuring waste material is properly sorted into appropriate bins.
13) Post records or maintain logs as required.
14) Service Fork Lift trucks including changing of propane tanks and checking fluid levels.
15) Maintain good housekeeping, keeping work area free of oil spills & debris.
16) Ensure that all safety equipment, devices and guards are properly used and in place at all times. Follow safe working procedures and safety rules.
17) Additional duties as required.
