As part of the Space Software Product Line (SSPL) team, you will play a key role delivering Space Vehicle (SV) and payload flight software (FSW) toward our continued success. Our team delivers on-board functionality, thoroughly tested, and flight ready. Our support doesn’t end at launch – we are available for our customers throughout operations and sustainment phases. As a Software Engineering Software Systems Engineer (SWSE) within the Space Software Product Line (SSPL) you will contribute to our mission by:
\- Design, develop, and integrate complex software systems, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability
\- Partner with hardware, firmware, test, and program‑management teams to capture detailed system requirements, translate them into actionable design specifications, and execute compliance‑verification activities throughout the architecture development lifecycle
\- Conduct system-level analysis, modeling, and simulation to identify and resolve integration issues early in the development cycle
\- Implement and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines, supporting continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices
\- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and documentation throughout the product lifecycle, including configuration management and risk mitigation
\- Integrate automated security monitoring and response into the architecture to ensure continuous compliance and rapid threat mitigation
Basic Qualifications
\- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
\- Proficiency in C++ programming language
\- Demonstrated experience with Linux Operating Systems
\- Experience working in an Agile Environment
\- Strong analytical/problem solving abilities
\- Effective communication for cross-team coordination
\- Knowledge or experience participating with software qualification campaigns (including unit, integration, and system-level testing)
\- Prior technical team leadership experience
Desired Skills
\- Knowledge/experience in a Version Control System (Git)
\- Experience with one or more of the following: Python, JavaScript, HTML
\- Experience using automated unit testing frameworks
\- Demonstrated ability to drive functional integration across multidisciplinary teams
\- Experience with Agile development
\- Experience with real-time embedded systems
\- Experience overseeing the full Verification & Validation lifecycle from concept through certification
\- History of customer-facing technical roles
Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00

* For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
