Experienced Dental Assistant – General Dentistry & AOX
We are seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our fast-paced, growing dental practice. Our office provides comprehensive general dentistry as well as advanced implant and All-on-X (AOX) treatment.
This is not an entry-level dental assisting position. Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months of hands-on dental assisting experience in a dental office and be comfortable working efficiently with multiple providers in a busy clinical environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, confident chairside, and able to anticipate the needs of the provider while maintaining an excellent patient experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide chairside assistance to multiple dental providers during general and restorative dental procedures.
- Prepare operatories, patients, instruments, materials, and equipment for scheduled procedures.
- Assist with restorative dentistry, including crowns, bridges, fillings, impressions/scanning, and other general dental procedures.
- Fabricate and finish temporary crowns independently and efficiently.
- Take dental radiographs and assist with intraoral and 3D scanning as needed.
- Accurately document clinical findings, treatment performed, and provider instructions in the patient's chart.
- Maintain efficient and detailed clinical notes in Dentrix .
- Review patient charts and treatment plans prior to appointments to ensure the clinical team is prepared for the day.
- Assist with implant and AOX procedures based on experience and training.
- Follow proper sterilization, infection-control, OSHA, and clinical safety protocols.
- Turn over operatories efficiently while maintaining appropriate infection-control standards.
- Maintain instruments and clinical equipment and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Monitor clinical supplies and assist with organization and inventory as needed.
- Communicate effectively with doctors, hygienists, treatment coordinators, front-office team members, and other dental assistants.
- Provide clear postoperative instructions and patient education as directed by the provider.
- Deliver excellent patient care while helping maintain an efficient clinical flow throughout the day.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 6 months of hands-on dental assisting experience in a dental office is required.
- Dentrix experience is a plus
- Must be proficient in dental charting and clinical documentation/notation .
- Must have experience providing chairside assistance for general dentistry procedures.
- Must know how to make a temporary crown .
- Must be comfortable assisting multiple providers and transitioning between procedures throughout the day.
- Strong understanding of sterilization, infection control, and clinical safety protocols.
- Ability to prepare operatories and anticipate the provider's needs during treatment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume dental environment .
- Ability to remain organized and provide excellent patient care during busy or stressful situations.
- Invisalign experience is a plus.
- Implant and/or AOX experience is a plus, but not required.
