About this role

Controller
Full-Time - In-Office

Our client is a fast-growing, multi-location automotive service company on a mission to make car care simpler, more transparent, and a whole lot better. As the organization continues to expand, they are seeking a Controller to serve as a key financial operating partner and help build the finance function for its next stage of growth.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who wants to do more than oversee accounting from a distance. The Controller will take ownership of the monthly close, reconciliations, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis while strengthening systems, controls, and processes to support a growing business. Reporting directly to the Owner/CEO, this individual will have a meaningful voice in business decisions and will be expected to turn financial data into clear insights, identify risks, and help guide the company toward smarter, sustainable growth.

Best-in-Class Benefits and Culture:

Our client values their employees’ time and effort. Their competitive compensation of $110,000-$140,000 annually, depending on experience, and an extensive benefits package, enhances their commitment to your success. Our client’s benefits package includes:

- Comprehensive health coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance provided
- Robust retirement planning: 401(k) plan available with employer matching
- Financial security: Life and disability insurance for added protection
- Flexible financial options: Health savings and flexible spending accounts offered
- Well-being and work-life balance: Paid time off

Plus, they work to maintain the best possible environment for their employees, where people can learn and grow with the company. They strive to provide a collaborative environment where everyone feels encouraged to contribute to their processes, decisions, planning, and culture.

To thrive/succeed as the Controller you should have:

- Have meaningful experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar finance leader
- Have personally owned or significantly led month-end close and financial-statement preparation
- Are strong across GL accounting, reconciliations, AP/AR, cash management, accruals, fixed assets, budgeting, and forecasting
- Have experience with multiple entities and intercompany accounting
- Can build processes and controls rather than simply follow existing ones
- Are comfortable working directly in the details
- Can explain financial information clearly to non-finance leaders
- Have the judgment and confidence to respectfully challenge leadership, including the Owner
- Are resourceful and comfortable working in a company where not everything has already been built

What You’ll Own

- Month-end close and company, entity, and location-level financial reporting
- Cash management and a rolling 13-week cash forecast
- Budgeting, forecasting, and budget-to-actual analysis
- Balance-sheet reconciliations and financial integrity
