About this role

About us

Worley is a global company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia. We partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value across the life of their assets. We specialize in consulting, engineering, procurement and construction across the project lifecycle, with services extending through to operations and decommissioning. Leveraging extensive experience and AI-enabled delivery, we support customers in navigating complexity as they meet today's needs and transition to more sustainable solutions.

Purpose:

Coordinate project plans, schedules, activities, milestones and engineering deliverables for critical infrastructure works in accordance with Worley procedures and customer requirements. Bridge the technical gap between the Project Manager and engineering teams by supporting design interpretation, interdisciplinary coordination, schedule inputs, bills of materials and progress forecasting.

Scope:

Support small critical infrastructure projects and work packages across utilities, water, power, transport, ports, industrial infrastructure, asset upgrades and brownfield modifications. Translate contract requirements into practical scopes, deliverables, schedules, resource inputs and project controls.

Responsibilities:

- Discipline Leadership :  Coordinate project engineering teams to deliver assigned critical infrastructure scope. Set objectives for scope, schedule, cost, quality and safety; monitor progress; address delivery gaps; and keep team members informed on project status and priorities.
- Business Development Support : Support small critical infrastructure pursuits by preparing clear scopes, execution inputs, schedules, resource plans, deliverables, risks, assumptions and value-improvement options, with appropriate consideration of commercial drivers, MOPC requirements, pricing inputs and delivery commitments.
- Critical Infrastructure Delivery : Coordinate technical delivery across studies, design development and engineering execution. Confirm alignment with the customer Basis of Design, applicable codes, safety requirements, constructability, maintainability and operational continuity.
- Project Coordination & Administration : Maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverable registers, progress inputs, bills of materials and forecasts in line with Worley procedures and customer commitments.
- Stakeholders & Interfaces :  Act as the technical coordination interface between project managers, engineering leads, customers, authorities, contractors, vendors, operations and site teams. Resolve inter-discipline issues and escalate matters affecting safety, quality, cost, schedule or service continuity.
- Execution Controls :  Translate contract requirements into scope, deliverables, schedules, resource plans and project control inputs. Track cost and schedule trends, monitor CPI and WPI performance indicators, manage MOPC inputs where applicable, control scope definition and change, and develop corrective actions for problem areas.
- Commercial & Scope Management : Apply commercial awareness in day-to-day engineering coordination by supporting scope clarity, baseline control, variation awareness, change readiness, MOPC compliance and early identification of cost, schedule or productivity impacts. Provide timely inputs to support performance reviews, commercial reporting and recovery planning.
- Technical & Team Leadership : Apply Worley-approved systems, procedures and tools for engineering coordination, checking, interdisciplinary review, comment close-out, mentoring and sustainable value creation.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:
- University degree or equivalent in engineering, or equivalent technical experience, with professional registration or eligibility for registration in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Typically 8+ years’ engineering experience, including 5 to 7 years of technical, supervisory and/or developing project management experience.
- Experience coordinating E and EP delivery, with EPCM, EPC, site assignment and workshare exposure desirable.
- Knowledge of at least one engineering discipline, with the ability to coordinate inputs, manage interfaces and support project delivery objectives.
- Working knowledge of infrastructure standards, customer specifications, design reviews, constructability, operability, schedules and interdisciplinary workflows.
- Able to provide technical guidance, resolve coordination issues and support management of scope, change, risk, cost and schedule.
Desirable:
- Professional registration; project management certification or training; EPCM/EPC, site, procurement, construction, commissioning, workshare, Access and Visio exposure.
Decision Authority, Tools and Success Measures:
- Authority : Makes independent decisions within established guidelines for less complex functions, considering safety, technical, cost and schedule impacts. Coordinates tasks with supervisors and discipline leads and escalates material contractual, regulatory, safety, technical or commercial issues.
- Systems & Tools : Strong working knowledge of Worley management systems, delivery procedures, quality processes, document control and approved collaboration tools. Competent in Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint, with Access, Visio and project controls tools desirable. Able to use approved digital initiatives, AI-enabled tools, Microsoft Copilot, bots, automation and data-driven workflows to improve coordination, reporting, productivity, knowledge capture and delivery assurance.
- Success Measures :  Safe and compliant engineering coordination across small critical infrastructure projects or defined infrastructure work packages.
- Accurate and current plans, schedules, deliverable registers, bills of materials, forecasts and project control inputs.
- On-time engineering deliverables with effective checking, coordination, comment close-out and status reporting.
- Infrastructure solutions that are constructable, operable, maintainable, resilient and aligned with customer, regulatory and service-continuity requirements.
- Clear engineering coordination, controlled change, proactive risk mitigation and timely resolution of technical, commercial and interface issues.
