JOB SUMMARY:

- Lead a Transformation Office team within the Accounting department.

- Oversee all activities of the function, including process redesign, technology enablement and optimization, and organizational optimization.

- Foster close relationships with other department leaders and ensure appropriate buy-in from department heads.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assess organizational needs, set a strategy, and create a foundation to enable execution of optimal and sustainable transformation initiatives.

- Lead the development of a best-in-class project management playbook to establish a methodical framework for all future transformation initiatives for the Accounting department.

- Lead and facilitate strategic working sessions to identify and prioritize transformation initiatives, establishing a transformation roadmap and ensuring continuous alignment to business objectives.

- Provide regular updates on all projects within the Transformation program to Accounting leadership and other business partners.

- Engage Accounting leadership and others as appropriate to determine additional enterprise initiatives to incorporate into transformation scoping.

- Ensure system design incorporates internal and SOX controls that adequately address business and technology risks.

- Own the master calendar for all Accounting transformation milestones and executive stakeholder communications.

- Collaborate and coordinate with department leaders within Accounting and other key departments.

- Gain sufficient knowledge of the various sub-functions within Accounting, their unique challenges, and the systems used in day-to-day and closing activities.

- Provide strategic guidance and insights to executive and Accounting leadership to ensure transformation objectives are fully realized.

- Facilitate ongoing listening mechanisms/forums to identify sources of friction; proactively propose actions and initiatives to address identified issues and risks.

- Perform other job-related duties as needed.

EDUCATION:

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

- 12+ years of experience leading programs/projects involving process reengineering and/or automation of finance/accounting activities in the Controllership and/or FP&A domain, including change management (business engagement, readiness, adoption).

- Experience managing in a SOX-compliant Accounting environment.

- Experience leading large and diverse teams that are new to transformation.

- Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.

- Cruise line or hospitality industry experience a plus.

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:

- Knowledge of key technology enablers (e.g., Trintech, Blackline), PeopleSoft and Hyperion, reporting tools (e.g., Business Objects, Tableau), and coding (e.g., SQL) preferred.

- General knowledge of the end-to-end Accounting & Reporting cycle.

- Knowledge of US GAAP (or international equivalent) and FP&A business metrics.

- Strong program/project management skills.

- Management experience, including assessing resource needs, providing recommendations on building teams and hiring, goal setting and performance management, training and development, achieving objectives through others, addressing poor performance, and bench planning.

- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

- Flexible thinker with ability to work in ambiguity.

- Highly analytical, solutions-oriented, and able to see the "big picture".

- Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills to explain results and proposals across varying levels of experience within the organization.

- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
