Job Title: RF Test Engineer Location: Redmond, WA - 100% Onsite Top Skills RF measurements and fixtures RF Testing experience Troubleshoot and debug issues for RF circuits or PCBs Job Description The RF Test Engineer designs, executes, and automates RF test activities for components, modules, and systems, ensuring reliable performance from design verification through production release. This role focuses on RF and microwave testing, measurement automation, troubleshooting, and detailed documentation to support high-quality, robust hardware. Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and execute RF test plans, procedures, and test cases for RF components, modules, and systems.
- Perform RF measurements and set up RF measurement fixtures to support characterization, validation, and verification activities.
- Automate bench measurements using tools such as Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar test automation software.
- Design and maintain test scripts, data logging tools, and automated report generation workflows to improve test efficiency and consistency.
- Troubleshoot RF test setups, including fixtures, cables, adapters, and instrumentation, to identify and resolve measurement errors and anomalies.
- Correlate lab measurement results with simulation data and design expectations to validate RF performance.
- Support design verification, qualification, and production release testing by executing structured RF test campaigns.
- Analyze test failures and lead root-cause investigations for RF performance issues at the circuit, PCB, or system level.
- Maintain awareness of calibration requirements and uphold measurement uncertainty discipline to ensure accurate and repeatable results.
- Create clear, thorough documentation for test procedures, test results, and engineering reports.
- Support environmental, thermal, and stress testing, including shock, vibration, HALT, HASS, ALT, and TVAC testing as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to communicate findings, propose improvements, and support continuous product quality enhancements.

Essential Skills

- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in RF or microwave testing, characterization, or validation.
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals and RF measurement principles.
- Hands-on experience using RF lab equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), Vector Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Signal Generators, and oscilloscopes.
- Proficiency in RF testing, including RF measurements and the setup of RF fixtures and test equipment.
- Experience with test automation and scripting using Python or similar tools.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, block diagrams, and datasheets.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for RF circuits, PCBs, and hardware systems.
- Experience with shock testing, vibration testing, HALT, HASS, ALT, and related stress testing methods.
- Ability to create detailed test reports and engineering documentation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills to clearly present technical findings and recommendations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar platforms for test automation and data analysis.
- Familiarity with TVAC (thermal vacuum) testing and other environmental test methods.
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging RF circuits or PCBs in a lab environment.
- Familiarity with calibration processes and measurement uncertainty concepts.
- Experience designing and maintaining automated data logging and report generation workflows.
- Background in hardware test execution and the use of a variety of RF test equipment.
- Exposure to end-to-end RF test processes from design verification through production release.
- Interest in contributing to large-scale RF testing initiatives and building a strong RF test engineering portfolio.

Work Environment This role is onsite in Redmond in a hands-on RF lab environment. You will work with a wide range of RF and electronic test equipment, including Vector Network Analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and specialized RF fixtures. The position involves frequent bench work, setup and teardown of RF test configurations, and participation in environmental, thermal, shock, vibration, HALT, HASS, ALT, and TVAC testing. The work setting emphasizes careful handling of RF hardware, disciplined calibration practices, and precise documentation. This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
