Seasonal Retail Associate

Job Summary

We are seeking Seasonal Retail & Fulfillment Associates to support both our retail store and order fulfillment operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, holiday-themed environment and is comfortable balancing customer service, sales, merchandising, inventory, online order fulfillment, packing, and general store/warehouse responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is positive, organized, dependable, customer-focused, and able to work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

This position is based at our Mount Vernon location and reports directly to the Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Merchandise, Stock & Merchandising

- Keep sales floor fixtures, displays, shelves, and merchandise full, organized, and visually appealing.

- Replenish merchandise from the stockroom and warehouse as needed to maximize sales opportunities.

- Receive, check in, organize, price, and label new merchandise.

- Execute price changes, reductions, transfers, and other merchandise-related tasks.

- Maintain accurate inventory of merchandise.

- Assist with merchandising and visual displays according to Christmas In America guidelines.

- Ensure products are properly cared for and displayed in their best condition.

- Assist with organizing and maintaining stockrooms, warehouse areas, and back-of-house spaces.

- Handle holiday dcor and merchandise including ornaments, garland, wreaths, figurines, displays, and other seasonal products.

Online Order Fulfillment & Shipping

- Accurately pick products from shelves, stockrooms, or warehouse locations based on customer orders and pick sheets.

- Fulfill online orders placed through the Christmas In America website within established processing and shipping timelines.

- Verify products, quantities, and order details before packing.

- Inspect merchandise for damage or defects and ensure products meet quality standards before shipment.

- Safely and securely pack merchandise to protect it during shipping.

- Prepare completed orders for shipment and follow established shipping and handling procedures.

- Assist with online order issues, inventory discrepancies, and fulfillment questions as needed.

- Maintain an organized and efficient packing and fulfillment area.

Store & Warehouse Operations

- Keep the sales floor, POS areas, stockroom, warehouse, packing areas, and other workspaces clean, organized, and safe.

- Follow established cleaning procedures throughout the store and back-of-house areas.

- Assist with receiving, organizing, stocking, and restocking merchandise.

- Work efficiently with team members to ensure customer orders and store priorities are completed on time.

- Follow all company procedures related to safety, security, inventory control, and administrative processes.

- Follow proper warehouse and workplace safety procedures.

- Report damaged merchandise, inventory issues, safety concerns, or other operational issues to management.

- Assist colleagues and other departments when needed to support overall store operations.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements

- Previous retail, customer service, warehouse, fulfillment, packing, or similar experience preferred; seasonal retail or warehouse experience is a plus.

- Previous experience with Shopify and basic shipping/handling procedures preferred.

- Previous retail merchandising or visual display experience strongly preferred.

- Basic computer literacy and ability to use standard computer/POS systems.

- Ability to read and write English well enough to understand pick sheets, product information, instructions, and workplace procedures.

- Ability to prioritize and organize workload effectively.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and a 6-day work week during peak season.

- Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods, including shifts in excess of 10 hours when required.

- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 25 lbs unassisted and occasionally lift/carry items up to 40 lbs .

- Ability to climb and safely use a ladder, including a 20-foot ladder , as required.

- Ability to use a step stool safely.

- Ability to work safely around warehouse equipment, merchandise, shelving, and displays.

- Ability to follow all cleaning, safety, security, and operational procedures.

Schedule

This is a seasonal peak-holiday position with flexible scheduling requirements. Candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed , including the ability to work a 6-day work week during peak periods.
