Job Title: Electrical Drafter Job Description
The primary function of this role is BIM Coordination, focusing on the drafting and design of electrical conduit systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of computer-aided drafting system standards, practices, and techniques.
- Create quick actions utilizing the command language of the system to assist in drawing creation.
- Utilize knowledge of mathematics in the preparation of drawings.
- Develop increased proficiency in system operation with a resulting increase in productivity, and learn how to use all software options.
- Review work orders and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of design.
- Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production processes, using conversion charts and calculators.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in electrical drafting using 3D modeling software such as BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, and NavisWorks.
- Ability to create Revit Worksheets and understanding of Revit work-sharing process.
- Fluency in both 2D and 3D spaces.
- Understanding of 3D coordination with other trades.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D plans, electronically or in hard copy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED and drafting courses required; one to two years of technical training preferred.
- Five years experience in the electrical construction industry, with knowledge of electrical symbols and drafting conventions and standards.
- Working experience in electrical drafting or MEP using Revit is preferred.
- General working knowledge of construction software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Ability to manipulate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar Revit functions.
- Ability to receive and transmit documents on behalf of the design team.
- Fluency with all plotters, printers, and reproduction systems used in house or on the job site.
- Ability to import documents, such as spreadsheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects.
- Skills above and beyond would be creating simple parametric families, utilizing shared parameters, creating schedules, and creating complex geometry.
Work Environment
This position can be located in Oregon (Portland, Hillsboro), Boise, ID, or Phoenix, AZ, and offers a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
