Job Title: Electrical Drafter Job Description
The primary function of this role is BIM Coordination, which involves creating and managing building information models for electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of computer-aided drafting system standards, practices, and techniques.
- Create quick actions utilizing the command language of the system to assist in drawing creation.
- Utilize knowledge of mathematics in the preparation of drawings.
- Develop increased proficiency in system operation with a resulting increase in productivity and learn how to use all software options.
- Review work order and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of design.
- Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production processes, using conversion charts and calculators.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, NavisWorks, and other construction software.
- Experience in electrical drafting using 3D modeling software, with a primary focus on drawing, routing, and declashing electrical conduit systems.
- Fluency in 2D and 3D space and understanding of 3D coordination with other trades.
- Ability to create Revit Worksheets and understanding of Revit work sharing process.
- Working experience in electrical drafting or MEP preferred using Revit.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D plans, electronically or hard copy.
- Ability to manipulate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar Revit functions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED and drafting courses required; one to two years technical training preferred.
- Five years of experience in the electrical construction industry, with knowledge of electrical symbols and electrical drafting conventions and standards.
- Fluency with all plotters, printers, and reproduction systems used in-house or on the job site.
- Ability to take verbal and general written direction well and turn that direction into appropriate, working shop drawings.
- Skills above and beyond would be creating simple parametric families, utilizing shared parameters, creating schedules, and creating complex geometry.
Work Environment
This position can be based in Oregon (Portland, Hillsboro), Boise, ID, or Phoenix, AZ, and offers a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. The work environment is dynamic, involving both office settings and potential on-site visits. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
