Position Overview

Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a leading construction organization seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery and financial performance of complex construction projects throughout the DMV Region.

The Senior Project Manager will provide overall leadership and direction from preconstruction through project closeout, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This position will work closely with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Construction Managers, subcontractors, estimators, superintendents, and internal project teams.

The ideal candidate is an experienced construction professional with a strong background managing projects valued at $20 million or more , excellent client relationship skills, and a proven record of delivering profitable, successful projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide overall leadership and direction for construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
- Establish project objectives, responsibilities, schedules, and expectations for the project team.
- Enforce company safety policies and all applicable local, state, and federal safety requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Construction Managers, subcontractors, and other industry partners.
- Identify and develop opportunities for future business and actively participate in business development efforts.
- Maintain knowledge of current market conditions, pricing trends, and construction industry developments.
- Participate in preconstruction, estimating, bidding, and constructability reviews.
- Collaborate with Estimating, Scheduling, BIM, Operations, and Proposal Management teams.
- Provide input for RFP responses, logistics plans, project schedules, and construction approaches.
- Lead project interviews and presentations with Owners and project stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with the Project Scheduler and Superintendent.
- Monitor project progress and ensure construction activities remain on schedule.
- Manage procurement activities, including scopes of work, subcontractor agreements, procurement tracking, and negotiations.
- Oversee subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with contract requirements, schedule, quality, and scope.
- Lead and participate in regular subcontractor and project team meetings.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for Owners, Architects, and Construction Managers regarding project progress, financial performance, changes, and issues.
- Prepare and lead regularly scheduled Owner meetings.
- Manage project cost control systems and maintain budget compliance.
- Track potential and approved change orders and oversee monthly cost-to-complete forecasting.
- Manage project permitting requirements, including building and occupancy permits.
- Oversee the RFI and submittal processes to ensure project requirements are met.
- Prepare monthly owner requisitions and manage the funding and approval process.
- Review and approve subcontractor applications for payment and vendor invoices.
- Participate in monthly company project reviews and communicate project risks, financial performance, and overall status.
- Manage project closeout activities and ensure timely completion and release of retention.
- Mentor and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and other project team members.
- Utilize current construction technology and software to manage projects in a digital/paperless environment.

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of construction project management experience managing projects individually or cumulatively valued at $20 million or more .
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Proven history of successful project delivery, client satisfaction, and profitability.
- OSHA 30-hour certification.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- LEED Specialty Accreditation preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Procore, and Bluebeam .
- Working knowledge of Primavera scheduling and BIM .
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor management.
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines effectively.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Self-motivated, trustworthy, organized, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively in a digital and paperless project environment.
- Willingness to travel throughout the DMV Region as required.

- Base Salary: $130,000–$150,000 annually
