About this role

Who We Are

Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation-inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom-line impact.

To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.

What You'll Do

As an HR Business Partner Director within the Global Businesses & Functions People Team, you will provide senior HRBP expertise and additional leadership capacity across one to two Global Businesses or Functions at a time. Rather than being permanently aligned to a single organization, you will deploy where there is the greatest need and opportunity to accelerate progress on critical people priorities.

Working alongside the HR Business Partners and senior leaders of the businesses and functions you support, you will help translate business priorities into practical people strategies and drive their execution. Your assignments will vary according to business need, with a particular focus on transformation, organizational change and complex people priorities that benefit from dedicated senior HR expertise and additional capacity.

You will:

- Partner with senior leaders and HR Business Partners to shape and deliver people strategies aligned with business priorities, bringing an enterprise perspective and adapting your approach to the context of each assignment.
- Provide leadership and additional capacity on significant people and change initiatives, moving quickly from diagnosis and problem solving through to design and then to practical execution and measurable outcomes.
- Advise leaders on organizational design, workforce planning and change, connecting business strategy with implications for organization, capabilities, roles, talent and ways of working.
- Strengthen talent and succession priorities, helping leaders identify critical capabilities, develop and deploy talent, build future-focused career pathways and address key talent risks.
- Bring together people data, workforce insights and organizational context to frame complex issues, challenge assumptions and improve the quality of people decisions.
- Navigate complex and sensitive people topics with sound judgment, partnering across BCG’s HR network to develop solutions that balance business needs, BCG-wide priorities and appropriate governance.
- Build trusted relationships quickly across changing environments, providing continuity and senior HRBP leverage while enabling the relevant business, function and HR teams to sustain progress beyond each assignment.
- Contribute insights and learning across the Global Businesses & Functions People team, identifying opportunities to strengthen approaches and accelerate progress across multiple businesses and functions.

What You'll Bring

- Demonstrated senior-level experience in HR, people strategy, organizational transformation or a related field, typically developed over 10+ years.
- Experience advising senior leaders on complex people, organization and change priorities in a global, matrixed environment.
- Strong critical thinking and judgment, with the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar contexts, frame complex issues and translate them into practical action.
- The credibility and relationship skills to build trust quickly, challenge constructively and influence senior leaders across different businesses, functions and cultures.
- A strong track record of leading complex initiatives from definition through delivery, balancing strategic perspective with a willingness to work hands-on when needed.
- Confidence using data and insights to inform decisions, combined with curiosity and confidence in adopting GenAI, digital tools and emerging technologies.
- Adaptability, resilience and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to move between assignments, navigate ambiguity and work effectively across BCG’s broader HR network.

Who You'll Work With

You will be part of the Global Businesses & Functions People team, reporting to the Executive Director responsible for HR Business Partners supporting our Global Businesses and Functions. You will work closely with HR Business Partners and senior leaders across one to two businesses or functions at a time, with assignments evolving as priorities and business needs change.

You will also collaborate with colleagues across BCG’s global People organization, drawing on expertise from Talent, HR Advisory, HR Operations, Compensation, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, and Employee Change & Innovation. Success in the role will depend on building trusted relationships quickly, working effectively across a global network, and bringing the right people together to deliver against shared priorities.

Additional info

At BCG, our people and relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that in-person collaboration plays an important role in our culture, mentorship, and professional development.

For this role, you will generally be expected to work from a BCG office or in person with clients on a regular basis (typically around 50% of working time), depending on business needs and in line with local policies and practices.

We aim to provide a dynamic and collaborative environment that fosters connection and teamwork.
