HIRING: Prep Lab Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a Prep Lab Assistant to support laboratory and manufacturing operations in a regulated pharmaceutical environment. This role is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, preparing, and maintaining laboratory equipment and materials used throughout the production process. The ideal candidate will have prior laboratory, manufacturing, or scientific experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail, adherence to SOPs, and accurate documentation. Responsibilities

- Clean, sanitize, and sterilize laboratory equipment in accordance with manufacturing SOPs and quality standards.
- Prepare materials and equipment for sterilization, including wrapping, sealing, and staging items for processing.
- Operate and load Dry Heat and Vacuum Ovens while maintaining accurate logbook documentation.
- Perform terminal sterilization activities and support manufacturing operations as needed.
- Assemble, set up, maintain, and repair laboratory glassware and associated equipment.
- Perform routine tubing replacement and equipment maintenance tasks.
- Issue, document, and track deviation reports when required.
- Complete inventory and material transactions using SAP.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support quality and regulatory requirements.
- Support general laboratory housekeeping and organization efforts.
- Follow all safety, quality, and GMP requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 6 months of laboratory, pharmaceutical manufacturing, production, or related experience.
- Basic knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related disciplines.
- Understanding of laboratory procedures, quality systems, and documentation practices.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle required for commuting to the facility.

Preferred Qualifications

- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field.
- Experience working in a GMP, FDA-regulated, laboratory, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with SAP or other inventory management systems.
- Experience with sterilization, laboratory equipment preparation, or cleanroom operations.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Ability to repeatedly handle, load, and unload trays and laboratory equipment throughout the shift.
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing and laboratory environment.

Work Environment

This position operates in a laboratory and pharmaceutical manufacturing setting and requires strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Candidates should be comfortable working around manufacturing materials and follow all facility safety protocols. The schedule is Monday through Friday with opportunities for overtime. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PORT WASHINGTON, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
