About this role

STORE MANAGER | MERIVALE, CHRISTCHURCH

Tuesday - Sunday schedule
Full-time - 40hrs p/wk

At Superette, our Store Managers are the heartbeat of the store. You set the tone, you hold the standard, and you build the team that delivers it. This is a role for someone who loves people, loves fashion, and wants to lead a team that plays to win.

We're a fast-paced, high-performing retail team, and we have a lot of fun getting there. Our standards are high, our energy is higher, and we lift each other up every single shift. As Store Manager, you'll lead that. You're not just running a store. You're building something.

THE SUPERETTE EXPERIENCE

Selling at Superette isn't a script, it's an experience. Every customer should walk out thinking "love that place, I'll be back." As Store Manager, you'll champion The Superette Experience at every touchpoint, lead by example on the floor, and build a team that does the same. You'll live our values, and make sure your team does too.

THE MERIVALE STORE

Small store. Big expectations. Merivale is one of our smaller stores and one of our most successful, with a real community around it and loyal customers who know the team by name and keep coming back. In a tight team, everyone counts, every shift matters, and there's nowhere to hide. That's exactly what makes it great. You'll know your customers, lead a team that has each other's backs, and run a store that's proud of what it delivers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Own the result. Drive your store to hit its sales targets and wage budgets. Dig into the reports, spot the trends, and bring ideas and action plans to the team at Support Office.
- Lead from the front. Be on the floor, step into shifts when needed, and show the team what great looks like.
- Build a team that wins. Recruit, onboard, train and develop people who match our values and standards. Run Check-Ins and coaching that help every team member grow, and develop your team and future leaders.
- Set the culture. Create a team that's genuinely enjoyable to be part of. High standards and caring for each other aren't opposites here. Recognise great work, and address performance early and with care.
- Keep it on brand. Maintain impeccable store presentation and visual merchandising, with stock accuracy backed by strong loss prevention habits.
- Run a tight ship. Plan rosters within wage budgets, manage leave and timesheets, and keep opening, closing, cash handling and health and safety sorted, so the store is ready every day.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

- Proven experience leading a retail team to deliver sales results.
- A genuine love of fashion, people, and the retail floor.
- The confidence to coach, give honest feedback, and lead people through the good and the tricky.
- Commercial smarts: you're comfortable with sales reports, wage percentages and rosters, and you know how to turn numbers into action.
- Hands-on leadership. You're happy to roll your sleeves up and lead by doing in a small team.
- Energy, accountability, and a team-first attitude.
- Reliability and flexibility to work a Tuesday to Sunday roster, 40 hours per week, including weekends and key trading periods.

WHY SUPERETTE
