The Role

As IWPB Global Transformation Center Lead - Guangzhou and Xian you’ll set direction for HSBC’s China-based offshore Change team delivering outcomes for Hong Kong, the rest of Asia, HASE, China and multiple multi-market value streams. The role partners closely with senior business and delivery stakeholders to align roadmaps, priorities and capacity while ensuring delivery remains anchored to IWPB strategic objectives. You’ll be accountable for end-to-end non-Technology delivery across global and regional programmes bringing re-usable common capabilities to markets. Success means strengthening delivery capability across the GTC and creating a consistent approach to ways of operating including Agile and DevOps principles aligned to FIM. You’ll also own the site’s people agenda including recruitment, onboarding, engagement and talent development across a large team. This is a senior role operating in a fast-moving environment where clear decision-making and strong stakeholder alignment matter.

Principal responsibilities

- Oversee the China-based offshore Change organisation across Guangzhou and Xian including delivery for multiple markets and value streams
- Shape delivery roadmaps, milestones, priorities and supply in partnership with senior business stakeholders and value stream leadership
- Deliver global and regional programmes with accountability for end-to-end non-Technology outcomes across markets and delivery teams
- Establish a cross-functional delivery approach across IT, Digital, Channels, Operations, enabling functions and third-party providers
- Embed consistent ways of operating (WOO) across teams including Agile delivery practices and DevOps principles aligned to FIM
- Strengthen delivery capability through continuous improvement, coaching, mentoring, training and sharing best practice across markets
- Govern adherence to the Change Management Framework and intervene early to resolve delivery risks, issues and dependencies
- Manage vendor and service provider relationships including commercial negotiations, resourcing, performance expectations and quality tracking

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications

- Bring proven experience running large-scale, multi-market change programmes in digital banking and delivering measurable outcomes
- Demonstrate substantial experience establishing or managing a large Change organisation and strengthening delivery capability at scale
- Show practical working knowledge of Agile practices and methodologies and experience embedding new ways of operating
- Apply established understanding of HSBC Change Framework and experience executing programmes in line with defined frameworks and controls
- Partner effectively with senior executives across business, technology and functions to align priorities and secure decisions on trade-offs
- Manage delivery across matrix structures, multiple geographies and time zones including multicultural teams
- Resolve complex delivery conflicts through structured negotiation and stakeholder alignment across cross-functional teams
- Hold SAFe, Scrum Master, Managing Successful Programmes, Change Management or equivalent certification or bring equivalent demonstrable experience
