The opportunity to join our team

Make a meaningful difference for members and their families when they need support most. As an Insurance Trustee Specialist, you’ll manage complex insurance and trustee matters, using your expertise and judgement to help deliver fair and considered outcomes. You’ll work across Death, TPD and Income Protection claims, including disputed and declined claims, while partnering with insurers, advisers, solicitors and internal teams. This is an opportunity to combine your technical knowledge with empathy, sound decision-making and a genuine focus on achieving the right outcomes for members.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage complex Death, TPD and Income Protection claims from assessment through to resolution

- Independently review declined, disputed and complex insurance claims on behalf of the Trustee

- Review insurer decisions, confidently challenging outcomes where appropriate to support fair member outcomes

- Make impartial trustee recommendations in line with trust deeds, superannuation law and trustee delegations

- Assess contribution refund and reclassification requests accurately and within agreed service standards

- Support complex trustee complaints, including RG 271 and AFCA matters

- Build trusted relationships with members, beneficiaries, advisers, insurers, solicitors and internal stakeholders

- Identify risks and opportunities to improve processes, quality and the overall member experience

What you will bring:

- Experience in insurance claims, superannuation, trustee services or a related financial services environment

- Strong knowledge of Death, TPD and Income Protection claims

- Understanding of trustee obligations, superannuation legislation and regulatory requirements

- Experience managing complex, disputed or declined insurance claims

- Strong analytical skills and sound judgement when making impartial recommendations

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail

- Empathy and professionalism when supporting members and families through sensitive circumstances

- Strong stakeholder management skills and a proactive, collaborative approach
