About this role

- Genuine strategic paraplanning role where your expertise and ideas are valued
- Complex advice work across retirement, investments, insurance and superannuation
- Opportunity available across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide

About Us
At UniSuper, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional retirement outcomes for our members. With a long history in the University sector, we are a place where future-minded Australians come together.

UniSuper Advice is the Home for Advice Professionals. We provide members with trusted advice that supports confident financial decisions, through personal advice, digital solutions, education and strong partnerships with independent financial advisers. Our work is grounded in professionalism, collaboration, and better retirement outcomes for members.

The Opportunity
If you're a Paraplanner who enjoys thinking beyond the paperwork, this is an opportunity to play a genuine role in shaping quality financial advice outcomes.

Joining UniSuper's Advice team, you'll work alongside experienced Advisers to develop tailored advice strategies that help our members make informed decisions about their financial future. While preparing high-quality Statements of Advice is a core part of the role, we're looking for someone who likes getting into the detail, exploring options and contributing to the strategic thinking behind the advice.

This isn't an environment where paraplanners simply take instructions and move on. We value people who are curious, commercially minded and confident enough to ask questions, challenge assumptions and contribute ideas that lead to better outcomes for members.

You'll work across a broad range of advice matters including superannuation, retirement planning, investments, insurance and more complex member scenarios, while being part of a collaborative team that genuinely works in partnership with one another.

With significant investment and change occurring across our Advice business, it's also an exciting time to join. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to a function that is evolving, embracing new ways of working and continuing to strengthen the advice experience we deliver to members.

About You
You're an experienced Paraplanner who combines strong technical capability with sound judgement and a genuine interest in delivering quality advice outcomes.

You enjoy understanding the reasoning behind a strategy, not just documenting it. You're comfortable working closely with Advisers, contributing your thinking and helping navigate complex scenarios where there may be multiple paths forward.

You're naturally curious, ask thoughtful questions and have the confidence to hold a view when something doesn't quite stack up. At the same time, you're highly collaborative and know how to build positive working relationships while maintaining a strong focus on quality, compliance and member outcomes.
Ideally, you'll bring:

- Solid paraplanning experience gained within a financial advice environment
- Strong technical knowledge across superannuation, retirement planning, investments, insurance and broader advice strategies
- Experience preparing high-quality Statements of Advice and supporting documentation
- Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capability
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using financial planning software such as Xplan will be highly regarded

Most importantly, you're someone who enjoys being part of the conversation, takes ownership of your work and wants to contribute to a team that values expertise, collaboration and continuous improvement.
