About the Role
As a Senior Manager - Group AML/CTF in Financial Crime, you will lead ANZ's AML/CTF standards capability by maintaining and evolving enterprise AML/CTF frameworks, policies and obligations management practices. The role provides strategic advice, regulatory engagement and governance oversight to ensure AML/CTF risk is effectively managed across the Group and remains aligned with changing regulatory expectations and emerging financial crime risks.

What will your day look like?
- Own and lead the ongoing development, approval, maintenance and effectiveness of ANZ’s enterprise AML/CTF Program, policy, standards, obligations and supporting guidance.
- Interpret AML/CTF laws, rules, regulatory guidance and supervisory expectations, translating them into clear, proportionate and implementable enterprise requirements.
- Lead AML/CTF regulatory change assessment and delivery, including impact analysis, stakeholder consultation, implementation planning and escalation of material risks or dependencies.
- Provide authoritative AML/CTF advice and constructive challenge to senior leaders, Financial Crime teams and business stakeholders on complex matters and application of enterprise requirements.
- Oversee AML/CTF governance, reporting and decision-making, ensuring framework changes, approvals, exceptions, issues and actions are documented, reported and progressed through appropriate forums.
- Monitor the effectiveness and operability of AML/CTF requirements using risk information, issues, assurance outcomes, thematic insights and stakeholder feedback, and sponsor targeted improvements.
- Partner on AML/CTF regulatory engagement, consultation responses and industry matters, providing subject matter content and strategic positions.
- Lead, coach and develop the Group AML/CTF team while shaping the capability roadmap for policy, framework, guidance and capability uplift in line with regulatory change, risk insights and strategic priorities.
What will you bring?
- Expert knowledge of AML/CTF legislation, regulatory obligations, guidance and supervisory expectations relevant to a large financial institution.
- Extensive experience developing, interpreting and governing enterprise AML/CTF programs, policies, standards or frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience translating complex legal and regulatory requirements into clear, practical and risk-based controls and business requirements.
- Strong experience leading AML/CTF regulatory change, impact assessment, obligations management and implementation oversight.
- Proven ability to provide authoritative advice and constructive challenge on complex AML/CTF matters to senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of banking products, services, customers, channels and jurisdictions and their associated money laundering and terrorism financing risks.
- Experience using risk assessments, issues, assurance outcomes, data and thematic insights to evaluate framework effectiveness and prioritise improvements.
- Highly developed written communication skills, including preparation of policy documents, executive briefings, governance papers and regulatory content.
- Strong stakeholder management, consultation, negotiation and influencing skills across Risk, Legal, and business teams, as well as with regulators and industry bodies.
- Demonstrated people leadership, prioritisation and capability development in a complex, regulated environment
