About this role
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
- Relevant certification in Welding Inspection, NDT, Quality Management, or API-related disciplines is preferred.
- Knowledge of API Q1, applicable API product specifications, AWS/ASME requirements, and ISO 9001 principles is preferred.
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Strong knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, inspection, testing, and repair of drilling equipment.
- Ability to review engineering drawings, specifications, WPS/PQR, material certificates, NDT reports, ITPs, and quality documentation.
- Good understanding of NCR, root cause analysis, corrective actions, supplier quality, and deviation control processes.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to guide QA/QC Inspectors and coordinate quality activities.
- Good communication and coordination skills for working with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Proficient in technical reporting, documentation, and standard Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to make sound quality decisions, prioritize activities, and escalate critical quality issues when required.
EXPERIENCE LEVEL
- Minimum 7–10 years of relevant QA/QC experience in manufacturing, fabrication, repair, or servicing of oilfield, drilling, or heavy mechanical equipment.
- Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory or team-lead experience in a QA/QC environment is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with welding inspection, dimensional inspection, material verification, NDT coordination, FAT, supplier inspection, and quality documentation.
- Experience working in an OEM, oilfield equipment manufacturer, drilling equipment, or similar heavy-engineering environment is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting API Q1 audits, supplier audits, customer inspections, NCR investigations, and corrective action activities is preferred.
