About this role
The overall scope of the job includes seamlessly transporting food and beverage items from the kitchen/service station to guests’ tables in the assigned outlet, ensuring accurate, prompt, and hot delivery. The Food Runner supports the service team by providing courteous, professional, efficient, and flexible service consistent with hotel standards and Kempinski’s DNA values to maximize guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport food orders quickly and safely from the kitchen pass to the correct guest tables.
- Double-check dish presentation, accuracy, and special dietary requests before leaving the kitchen.
- Describe dishes clearly to guests when placing them on the table.
- Assist waiters with clearing dirty dishes (bussing) and setting tables.
- Arrive on time in a clean, ironed uniform with polished shoes and a nametag.
- Maintain high personal hygiene and follow all Kempinski grooming rules.
- Strictly follow HACCP and food safety standards at all times.
- Know the menu, ingredients, garnishes, and major food allergens.
- Complete opening, ongoing, and closing duties for the outlet.
- Keep service stations clean, organized, and stocked with trays, cutlery, and napkins.
- Handle equipment carefully to reduce breakage and wastage.
- Act as a reliable bridge between the kitchen chefs and the service staff.
- Report any guest feedback or complaints immediately to a supervisor.
- Attend daily briefings, team meetings, and scheduled training sessions.
- Perform additional operational duties assigned by the Outlet Manager or Supervisor.
