Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This is a senior level Engineering position with emphasis on technical authority for product architecture, technology roadmap development, standards, and cross-functional technical decision-making. Responsibilities include defining and driving PSG's long-term technology vision, architecture strategy, and innovation roadmap across hardware, software, firmware, system integration, and emerging technologies and work with Operations on various product engineering tasks. Some amount of hands-on development acitivity such as design of high speed interfaces, PCB layout, simulations, component selection and support to manufacturing /customer support on various acitivites is expected. This is a product development position requiring thorough background in developing high end systems including high speed simulation, layout guidence,  RF and electrical measurements, and working with Mech Engr for enclosure design and associated sub assemblies. This leader partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership to ensure that technology investments align with business objectives while enabling scalable product platforms, accelerated innovation, and sustainable competitive differentiation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop and maintain PSG's 3-5 year technology roadmap. Identify emerging technologies, market trends, and potential disruptions. Evaluate build, buy, and partner opportunities. Drive innovation initiatives aligned with strategic business objectives. Guide technology investment decisions and portfolio prioritization including custom silicon development and lifecycle-transition management.
- Conduct and Participate in various high speed circuit simulation and circuit design reviews and be responsible for system design and functionality.
- Define architectural principles across hardware, firmware, and system platforms. Develop, lead and own system architecture for major product initiatives. Ensure technology reuse and common platform strategies across product families. Establish architecture, governance, processes and technical standards. Balance innovation with maintainability and product lifecycle requirements.
- Partner with Product Management to translate market requirements into technology roadmaps. Ensure product development plans align with long-term architectural direction.  Drive platform strategies that enable faster product development and lower R&D costs.  Evaluate technology tradeoffs related to performance, cost, risk, and schedule.
- Serve as senior advisor to engineering leaders. Foster a culture of technical excellence and engineering rigor. Lead resolution of critical technical challenges across programs.
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.  Support customer engagements involving strategic technical discussions. Participate in executive reviews, strategic planning, and M&A technical evaluations when required. Represent PSG in industry forums, standards bodies, and key customer interactions. Maintain ownership of standards documents and restricted technical repositories.
- Monitor industry trends in technologies below. Drive technology incubation projects. Identify opportunities for platform differentiation.

- High-speed interconnects such as USB/USB4
- PCIe Gen6/Gen7 and beyond

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- BS/MS in EE or CE (MS or PhD preferred)
- 15+ years of engineering leadership experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of system/board level design exp designing and developing and leading high end, high speed complex platforms including latest bus topologies, CPU, and memory interfaces.
- Minimum of 5 years of exp managing cross platform engineering teams.
- Excellent knowledge of high speed (20Gbps or higher) design methodologies and simulation, including latest bus technologies such as PCIe, USB, SAS/SATA, Video and/or Ethernet.
- Excellent knowledge of FPGA and/or chip design methodologies, RF/Microwave design techniques and implementation.
- Excellent knowledge in high speed circuit design, implementation and measurements.
- Demonstrated success delivering hardware and software products.
- Experience developing multi-year technology roadmaps.
- Strong executive communication skills. Experience in developing and implementing development processes.
- Ability to influence across global engineering organizations..
- Good knowlwdge of manufacturing processes and taking a product from development into manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of various EMC/EMI control methods and implementation at PCB/component level.
- Working experience with various schematic entry tools and test/measurement equipment including high-speed, real-time oscilloscopes, network/spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
- Strong system development experience with wholistic approach.
- Team player. Be able to share knowledge, learn from others, and support other groups within an organization.

Salary Range:
$221,900.00-$295,800.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
