Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist specializing in Cardiology to join our dynamic medical imaging team. Duties

- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for cardiac imaging procedures, including PET scans and SPECT scans, ensuring precise dosage and adherence to radiation safety protocols
- Operate sophisticated medical imaging equipment such as SPECT scanners, PET scanners, CT, and DEXA scan devices to capture high-quality images for diagnostic evaluation
- Implement aseptic techniques during IV insertions and radiopharmaceutical injections, maintaining patient safety and comfort at all times
- Conduct comprehensive patient care by explaining procedures, monitoring patient condition throughout imaging sessions, and providing compassionate support
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems to document procedures accurately, record patient information, and ensure seamless communication within the healthcare team
- Apply knowledge of physiology and anatomy to optimize image quality and assist physicians in interpreting diagnostic results
- Maintain strict radiation safety procedures, including implementing radiation safety protocols, managing Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist from an accredited program, with current licensure or registration as required by local regulations
- Proven experience operating nuclear medicine equipment such as SPECT scanners, PET scanners, and related diagnostic radiology tools
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles
- Proficiency in operating medical imaging equipment with technical proficiency in radiation safety procedures
- Ability to perform IV insertions efficiently while maintaining aseptic technique
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of procedures and patient data
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications such as CT or DEXA scan experience are advantageous
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on compassionate communication and professionalism
