About this role
At Google, we "Focus on the user and all else will follow." Our Visual Designers weave space, typography, color, and iconography to help people successfully navigate our products, ensuring they are beautiful and accessible. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, to leverage user insights and create industry-leading products.
As a Visual Designer, you will rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution. You will collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.
The Home UX Studio is a horizontal design team that drives visual design, motion, and AI craft across the entire Google Home cross-functional portfolio. Rather than operating on the sidelines, we embed directly into product teams as active builders to help launch the next generation of Google Home experiences.
Whether we are shaping agent-first interactions in the Google Home app or crafting the visual language for new hardware like Smart Displays, Doorbells, and Thermostats, our focus is on design excellence. We partner directly with the Material Design team among others to build and scale cohesive systems across multiple platforms, while bringing warmth, emotion, and expressive design into products that live in people's homes.
The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
