The Intermediate Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of multidisciplinary engineering projects, with a focus on above-ground pipeline and well pad projects. Working closely with project managers, discipline leads, designers, and clients, you will help coordinate engineering activities from early project development and FEED through detailed design and execution.

What You’ll Do

Project Engineering & Execution
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and design activities throughout various phases of project execution.
- Support the delivery of above-ground pipeline, well pad, and associated oil and gas facility projects.
- Assist with project scope development, engineering planning, scheduling, and coordination of deliverables.
- Coordinate engineering interfaces between process, mechanical, piping, civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation, and other disciplines.
- Support design development during FEED and detailed engineering.
- Develop a strong understanding of project scope and design requirements prior to detailed design.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, constructability reviews, and technical evaluations.
- Help resolve technical and interdisciplinary issues throughout project execution.
Technical & Client Coordination
- Work with discipline leads and designers to develop practical, safe, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Review engineering deliverables for consistency with project scope, client requirements, codes, and standards.
- Coordinate technical information and engineering interfaces across disciplines.
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions.
- Communicate project requirements, technical issues, and design changes with internal teams and client representatives.
- Support senior project engineers and project managers in the successful delivery of projects.
Project Controls & Reporting
- Support project managers with engineering schedules, budgets, forecasting, and change management.
- Monitor engineering progress and help identify potential schedule, scope, or technical issues.
- Assist with the preparation of project reports, technical recommendations, and supporting documentation.
- Support the coordination and tracking of engineering deliverables.
- Help ensure engineering work is completed in accordance with project scope, schedule, and quality requirements.

About You

About You
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA, or eligible for registration.
- Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or a related Engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, ideally within an EPCM, consulting engineering, or owner/operator environment.
- Experience with above-ground pipeline and well pad projects within the oil and gas industry.
- Experience supporting projects through FEED and detailed engineering.
- Good understanding of multidisciplinary engineering workflows and project execution.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, design criteria, and project documentation.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and other project stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAGD, heavy oil, or conventional oil and gas well pads.
- Experience with above-ground gathering lines, flowlines, utility lines, or associated pipeline infrastructure.
- Experience supporting both brownfield and greenfield projects.
- Construction or field experience is considered an asset.
- Experience working within an EPCM project delivery environment.
- Exposure to access roads, utility corridors, water supply, or disposal well infrastructure is considered an asset.
