Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Clinical Services and consistent with the mission, values and policies of St.Amant, the Manager, Jordan’s Principle Social Work and Counselling Services plays a critical role in ensuring the success of St.Amant business and operations. The Manager promotes an excellent customer service focus to clients, staff and other stakeholders.
The Manager, Jordan’s Principle Social Work and Counselling Services, leads and supports a team of social workers and counsellors who work within a remote work environment. The Manager works in partnership with the Clinical Services management team and collaborates with other program areas across the organization. The Manager builds strong relationships with the people we support, families, program funders, and external stakeholders, and contributes to matters relating to Clinical Services as a whole. The Manager is expected to contribute to strategic planning, education and training, community relations and partnerships, quality improvement, risk management, and service evaluation. The Manager acts as a key resource to both the team of social workers and counsellors and the Senior Manager, sharing pertinent information in a timely manner, and addressing client risks, staff performance, or operational concerns as required.
The Manager, Jordan’s Principle Social Work and Counselling embraces the goal of Jordan’s Principle to ensure that all children have access to the health and social services they need in their community.
This position is based in Winnipeg, however regular travel to Indigenous communities in Manitoba, including by vehicle, plane, helicopter and boat, is required for duties related to supervision, collaboration with stakeholders, and community events.
The Manager, Jordan’s Principle Social Work and Counselling, participates in the Clinical Services on-call rotation and must have access to a vehicle during work hours. The Manager must have the ability to work flexible and/or extended hours including evenings and weekends as required.

Qualifications
Education and Occupational Certification:
• Master’s degree in Social Work or Counselling from an accredited university (a combination of a Bachelor’s degree and appropriate professional experience may also be considered)
• Current registration and membership in good standing with the Provincial regulatory body or professional association
• Meets all competency and continuing education requirements of the professional licensing body
Professional:
• Minimum of two years’ experience and skills in a leadership position
• Minimum of five years’ clinical experience, preferably in the area of developmental disabilities
• Knowledge of current legislation, philosophy and service trends in the area of developmental disabilities for children and adults
• Knowledge of the history of services to people with disabilities as well as practices relevant to the provision of services to individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities
• An understanding of Indigenous history, customs, cultures, and impacts of trauma and cultural oppression
• Knowledge and experience with the practice of Quality Improvement (QI) in a complex environment
• Competence in clinical knowledge and skills necessary to provide optimum service and act as a resource to staff
• Ability to work flexible and extended hours when necessary
• Possesses current driver’s license and access to reliable mode of transportation

Working Conditions
• Remote work environment managing staff who are also remote
