Job Overview: Responsible for the technical care and maintenance of interior tropical plants in both indoor
environments and greenhouse settings to provide an aesthetically pleasing environment for guests, community members and team members. Performs routine plant care tasks including watering,
pruning, fertilizing, pest and disease management, repotting, and propagation.
Create Your Path: The Work Youll Do:
- Propagate and grow tropical plants in a temperature and humidity-controlled greenhouse. Care for the plants through regular pruning, transplanting, and watering.
- Create and follow IPM plan using biological control and pesticides. Creates and follows a daily maintenance plan and keep detailed records of process.
- Transport tropical plants/mums/poinsettias to SMSC enterprises and gaming facilities, maintains and water according to plant health needs.
- Works closely with other indoor plant specialist to ensure all indoor plant areas are clean, pest free and healthy. Periodically work with horticulture staff in various outdoor landscape projects.
Job Requirements:
Reflects MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE required in order to meet the expectations of this job:
- Combination of education and experience to equal three years in horticulture and landscaping.
- Two years maintaining and propagating tropical/indoor plants.
- Valid Class D drivers license may be required with a good driving record.
- MN non-commercial pesticide applicators license or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Intermediate level computer skills.
