Job Title: Operations Coordinator Brokerage Operations Job Description
The Operations Coordinator supports brokerage operations by accurately processing a variety of financial transactions, maintaining complete and accurate client documentation, and ensuring adherence to internal procedures and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to learn multiple product lines, and a commitment to delivering timely, high-quality operational support in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all required client documents are on file, complete, and accurately maintained.
- Process daily work associated with the department, including asset movement, account transfers, and new account setup and maintenance.
- Handle routine and complex financial transactions in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner.
- Proactively identify, interpret, and resolve potential operational issues before they impact clients or internal stakeholders.
- Independently follow established procedures to meet service level agreements and achieve quality and productivity metrics.
- Learn, use, and support various financial products, software applications, and operational systems used within brokerage operations.
- Comply with all company policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Perform various account reconciliations and calculations to ensure accuracy of balances and transactions.
- Calculate interest and dividend payments and process incoming contributions and outgoing distributions as required.
- Maintain information in various databases, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Run reports to research and analyze account or transaction information and support issue resolution.
- Collaborate with colleagues across operations to support multiple lines of business as needed.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience in the financial services industry.
- At least 1 year of experience processing transactions in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with accounting principles, including reconciliations and basic financial calculations.
- Proficiency in data entry with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to process a variety of financial transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Capability to identify, interpret, and resolve operational problems proactively.
- Comfort learning and supporting multiple financial product lines.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and meet established service level agreements and quality metrics.
- Familiarity with financial operations related to asset movement, account transfers, and new account setup and maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills to support clear documentation and collaboration.
- Ability to comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Business degree preferred but not required.
- Experience with brokerage operations and related processes.
- Exposure to annuities and other financial products.
- Familiarity with brokerage platforms and back-office systems, including Pershing or similar systems.
- Experience with finance or accounting functions, including interest and dividend calculations.
- Comfort working with databases and running reports to research and analyze information.
- Willingness to continuously learn new systems, products, and procedures.
Work Environment
The role follows a hybrid work schedule, with associates working in the office twice a week on Mondays and Tuesdays, plus the first and third Friday of each month. The office environment is casual and features an open cubicle layout that encourages collaboration. The standard work schedule is an 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. shift. This is not a clock-in and clock-out environment; instead, the focus is on meeting responsibilities and delivering quality work. While there is no lunchroom that serves food, there is a designated area where employees can bring and eat their meals.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Des Moines, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
