Mesirow Currency is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to help develop our proprietary systems. This is a high growth, high visibility area with plenty of opportunities to enhance your skillset and build your career. Your work will have immediate, tangible impact: the systems you support are critical to our daily business operations. You will work alongside experienced engineers and business stakeholders, taking ownership of well-scoped features while building your knowledge of our systems and the currency-management business.

Responsibilities:

- Own delivery of features and enhancements to our portfolio management and trading systems while also solving for changing business needs

- Develop and maintain reliable, performant production applications, with attention to correctness and maintainability

- Participate in an agile team dynamic; own testing through test automation, drive DevOps capabilities and CI/CD across environments.

- Leverage authorized AI tools to improve SDLC velocity and increase system reliability.

- Contribute to code reviews, refactoring, and improvements informed by testing, performance measurements, and production feedback

- Investigate and resolve application issues, collaborating with other engineers on complex problems

Requirements:

- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

- Experience in application development and testing in C# or equivalent

- Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React

- Experience in designing and building APIs

- Solid understanding of relational databases

- Knowledge of observability; monitoring, logging, and alerting

- DevOps experience, Git-based workflows and CI/CD

- Self-starter with strong ownership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical solutions and work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have:

- Experience in the Financial Services industry

- Solid understanding of the .NET stack

- Experience working in an Azure environment

In accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated hiring base salary for the role will be between $110,000 and $150,000 per year. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, also provides the opportunity for a performance based bonus and the Mesirow benefit program .
