About this role

Main Function:

The Trade Experience Lead is responsible for supervising and guiding the merchandising team to ensure effective product display, optimal stock availability, and compliance with company merchandising standards across assigned store(s). The role focuses on driving sales performance through superior visual merchandising execution, team coordination, and continuous improvement of in-store presentation and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision

- Lead, supervise, and support a team of store merchandisers.

- Allocate daily tasks and ensure timely completion of merchandising activities.

- Train and coach team members on merchandising standards and best practices.

- Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback.

- Ensure discipline, productivity, and adherence to store policies.

Merchandising & Product Display

- Oversee implementation of planograms and visual merchandising guidelines.

- Ensure consistent and high-quality product presentation across all sections.

- Approve and review display setups, promotions, and seasonal layouts.

- Ensure proper product rotation (FIFO) and shelf organization.

- Drive improvements in product visibility and category presentation.

Inventory & Stock Management

- Monitor overall stock availability across assigned sections.

- Ensure timely replenishment and minimize stock-outs.

- Coordinate with store and warehouse teams for stock movement.

- Track fast-moving and slow-moving items and report insights.

- Ensure proper handling of damaged, expired, or obsolete stock.

Pricing & Promotions Execution

- Ensure accurate implementation of pricing and promotional activities.

- Supervise setup of promotional and marketing displays.

- Verify compliance with promotional guidelines and timelines.

- Ensure removal of expired or outdated promotional materials.

Store Standards & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to company merchandising and visual standards.

- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and product presentation quality.

- Conduct regular audits of shelves, displays, and planogram compliance.

- Ensure high standards of product facing and shelf readiness.

Reporting & Coordination

- Prepare and submit merchandising performance reports.

- Report stock issues, display gaps, and competitor activities.

- Coordinate with store management and regional merchandising teams.

- Maintain records of team performance and merchandising execution.

Sales & Customer Experience Support

- Identify opportunities to improve sales through better product placement.

- Support customer experience by ensuring easy product accessibility.

- Monitor competitor merchandising strategies and share insights.

- Contribute to category growth through effective execution.

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, Experience

- Level 2 NVQJ or it equivalents in a relatable area

- Must possess a valid Food Handlers Permit

- Ability and willingness to learn new software systems.

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Be able to communicate with and present effectively to persons of all levels of the organization
