What You’ll Do
The Manager, Real Estate Transactions Accounting leads accounting activities for property acquisitions, dispositions, management transitions, portfolio conversions, and strategic departmental initiatives. Serving as the primary accounting liaison for property transitions, this role is accountable for coordinating and completing transaction-related accounting activities from due diligence through final transition and stabilization.
Your day-to-day may include:
- Serve as the accounting owner of all property acquisition, dispositions, and management transition activities.
- Oversee balance sheet setup, GL mapping, cost segregation analysis, settlement statement review, and opening/closing journal entries.
- Review and approve proration workbooks, cash analysis, and support transition reconciliations.
- Ensure client-specific accounting requirements, policies, banking instructions, and reporting expectations are documented and implemented.
- Coordinate accounting deliverables with Operations, Transactions, Asset Management, Ownership Groups, and third-party stakeholders.
- Escalate material delays, risks, or persistent close issues to the Residential Controller with recommended solutions.
Requirements
What You Bring
- Strong technical expertise in property accounting, GAAP, and financial reporting
- Knowledge of property acquisition, disposition, and transition accounting
- Prior experience and knowledge in the reading, understanding and analysis of financial statements
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and process improvement practices.
- Advanced skill level with Microsoft Excel

T he expected compensation range for this position is $100,000.00- $115,000.00, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
