Job Description

The Director, Client Services makes sure each assigned family experiences Matter's full service offering in a way that advances their vision and reflects their values. You lead strategic planning with each family and turn that plan into action, working with the engagement Partner, managing the client team, and building relationships with each family's outside advisors.

Responsibilities

- Lead the day-to-day client relationship as the main point of contact, with proactive communication

- Lead meetings with clients and their key advisors, including estate attorneys, tax CPAs, and insurance advisors

- Set meeting agendas and meeting book frameworks, debrief with the team, and drive changes to each family's strategic plan

- Guide execution of the family office, wealth, and tax strategies each family chooses

- Own each family's investment strategy and reviews, articulating Matter's investment philosophy and making recommendations aligned with the family's goals

- Set client team priorities, delegate work, and manage and coach junior team members

- Help lead projects and firm initiatives, and engage in community leadership

- Support Partners in business development

Qualifications

- 10+ years in financial services, including client-facing experience

- Wealth planning experience across investments, risk, estate planning, tax, and cash flow

- Experience on a client team driving wealth planning alongside senior and junior colleagues

- Experience building relationships with outside service providers

- Strong client service skills and experience or interest in business development

- Experience serving family office clients preferred

- Bachelor's degree required; CFP, CFA, CPA, or MBA preferred

- Some travel for internal and client team meetings
