About this role

Intuit is a global technology platform that helps our customers and communities overcome their most important financial challenges. We help give over 50 million consumers, small business, and self-employed customers around the world the opportunity to prosper.

Join the Fintech Payments & Invoicing team as an Engineering Manager for the Omnichannel Checkout. The team builds and manages the checkout experiences and service that lets payors pay merchants seamlessly across channels. They make getting paid simple, fast, and reliable for small businesses and enterprises, no matter how or where their customers choose to pay.

You will collaborate across multiple pods and cross-functional partners to align roadmaps, resolve dependencies, and ship customer-driven solutions that reduce friction in how small businesses get paid across every channel.

We love engineering leaders who build strong teams, are unafraid of complex distributed-systems and payments challenges, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and care as much about operational excellence as they do about the customer experience.

You'll be expected to lead as an AI-native leader: partnering with platform teams to drive adoption of Intuit's AI/GenAI paved roads, embedding AI into how your teams build and ship, and contributing improvements back to shared platforms so the rest of the engineering organization benefits from what your teams learn.

Responsibilities

- Lead, grow, and develop a team of software engineers building and operating omnichannel checkout experiences and APIs, ensuring high engineering standards and strong delivery execution.
- Own delivery of customer-driven checkout capabilities and the conversion funnel that work consistently across channels while solving for each channel's constraints (latency, offline/degraded connectivity, device form factor).
- Create a shared vision and build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and alignment with partners across the business (e.g., Program Management, Business Analysts, and Development Managers across the org).
- Inspire others through action, creating a spirit of collaboration for the benefit of our customers; bring out the best ideas from the best engineers by empowering them and leading by example.
- Champion engineering best practices - code quality, testing, and architecture reviews while staying hands-on enough to guide technical decisions and unblock the team.
- Drive AI-Native Engineering: Lead the adoption of GenAI platforms and AI-assisted workflows within your teams to accelerate delivery, optimize code quality, and build intelligent features directly into the Checkout platform.
- Scale and Direct Multi-Pod Teams: Lead, structure, and scale a large engineering organization (across multiple pods and tech leads), fostering operational excellence, team health, and high execution standards.

Qualifications

- 4+ years of experience as a people manager or established technical leader of software engineering teams that have delivered customer-facing or compliance-critical software products.
- 8-12+ years of hands-on software development experience, with a track record of building reliable, scalable experiences and services; experience in payments, fintech, or other regulated/compliance-driven domains is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, empower engineers, and cultivate a strong team culture while managing multiple concurrent workstreams and deadlines.
- Expertise in the Software design/architecture process.
- Hands-on experience while managing.
- Experience with Frontend and Backend technologies
- Experience with Agile development and methodologies and SaaS technologies.
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferably - experience working with global teams.
- Deep Fintech Domain Expertise: Proven experience building and operating high-availability, fault-tolerant platforms within fintech, payments, or tax compliance ecosystems where data integrity and transaction accuracy are non-negotiable.
- Large-Scale Team Leadership: Demonstrated success managing large engineering organizations (including managing other managers or tech leads) through complex, multi-system initiatives.
- AI-First Mindset & Execution: Practical experience leveraging AI technologies (e.g., LLM integrations, AI-driven development tools, automated testing models) to drive engineering efficiency and product innovation.
- Strong Technical Architecture Background: Deep technical grounding in distributed backend systems, microservices, and SaaS architecture, with the ability to participate in high-level system design and evaluate complex technical trade-offs.

- BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent work-related experience.
