College of Nursing Tenured/Tenure-Track Faculty

Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.
Position Overview
The Division of Nursing and Health Science invites applications for open-rank, tenured or tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or professor level. The Ohio State University is a model 21st century public, land grant, research, urban, community-engaged institution. The College of Nursing is a leading voice and advocate in education, scientific discovery and practice to change the future of healthcare for the better. The Division of Nursing and Health Science serves as a home to nurse and health scientists leading rigorous programs of research addressing critical health challenges across the lifespan, from maternal-infant health to complex care and aging, and many areas in between. This excellence is reflected in our college’s ranking as #6 nationally and #1 among Big Ten nursing schools in NIH funding.
We are seeking two faculty members with programs of research well aligned with the visions and missions of our university, college, and division. While all are welcome to apply, we have particular interest in candidates whose work focuses on health informatics/health services research and/or artificial intelligence. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, clinical and biomedical informatics; digital health infrastructure and health information exchange; health systems research, healthcare delivery, operations, and patient safety; learning health systems and academic-medical center partnerships; clinical decision support; predictive analytics; and the development and responsible use of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing to improve health and healthcare.
The college is also recognized for its strengths in translational biosciences and dissemination and implementation science. Through our state-of-the-art Translational Biosciences Laboratory and robust interdisciplinary research infrastructure, we welcome candidates whose work advances understanding of, for example, the biological basis of health and disease through biomarker research, biotechnology, stress and other biobehavioral sciences, omics research, systems biology, and precision health. The Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare provides extensive scholarly resources, mentorship, and methodological expertise to support dissemination and implementation research. We seek scholars who wish to leverage this infrastructure to advance the uptake, sustainability, and scale-up of evidence-based practices across healthcare and community settings.
This is not a remote position. Faculty are expected to reside in Ohio and be physically present on campus in Columbus at least three days per week.

Education and Experience Requirements
Required:
- PhD in Nursing or other related field
- RN licensure in the State of Ohio for those who are nurses (required upon hire)
Desired:
- Postdoctoral research experience is strongly preferred for those applying at the assistant level
- Ideal applicants will have research programs focused on health informatics/health services research, artificial intelligence, translational biosciences, and/or dissemination and implementation science, which may be applied to the study of health across the lifespan

As an Ohio State-certified Biosafety Level 2 facility, the laboratory provides the infrastructure for rigorous investigation of the biological basis for health and disease, from biospecimen collection, processing, and storage to molecular and cellular investigations, immune and microbial profiling, biomarker discovery and validation, and quantitative analyses of genetic, hormonal, and protein-based measures. The laboratory supports both investigator-initiated and collaborative research across the translational spectrum, enabling faculty to integrate biological measures into clinical, behavioral, population, and health services research programs.
Division faculty also have access to the Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare, an internationally recognized center dedicated to advancing the translation of evidence into practice and improving healthcare outcomes. The Institute provides a rich environment for dissemination and implementation research. Through its extensive training programs, methodological expertise, and national and international collaborations, the Institute supports both investigator-initiated and interdisciplinary research aimed at accelerating the uptake of evidence-based interventions across clinical, community, health system, and community settings.
Lastly, division faculty benefit from a rich ecosystem of research-practice partnerships that includes the college's nurse-led Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, the OSUCCC–James Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Nationwide Children's Hospital. Together, these organizations provide exceptional opportunities for clinical, translational, and health systems research across broadly representative populations and settings. Our faculty collaborate with clinicians, scientists, and healthcare leaders to address pressing health challenges, access robust clinical and population health data resources, and translate discoveries into practice.
