Insurance Coordinator needed in Dallas, TX

Location: Dallas, TX Pay: $19.00 - $24.00/hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Overview

A growing healthcare organization in the Dallas area is seeking an experienced Insurance Coordinator to join its team. This position is responsible for verifying insurance benefits, obtaining authorizations, communicating with patients and insurance carriers, and ensuring accurate documentation throughout the billing and reimbursement process.

Responsibilities

- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Obtain and track prior authorizations and referrals
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claims, coverage, and reimbursement issues
- Accurately enter and maintain insurance information in company systems
- Assist patients with insurance-related questions and payment responsibilities
- Follow up on denied or outstanding claims
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and company policies
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient service

Qualifications

- Previous experience as an Insurance Coordinator, Medical Insurance Specialist, Medical Billing Specialist, Patient Access Representative, or similar healthcare administrative role required
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and prior authorization processes
- Experience working within an EMR/EHR system
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare software systems

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
