Lockheed Martin is designing, developing, and delivering a next-gen wideband MILSATCOM system comprised of integrated space and ground segments that will provide enhanced communications capacity, flexibility and resiliency.

The selected candidate will support the Ground segment of the program as a Senior Software Configuration Analyst. Responsibilities will include, at a minimum, establishing, maintaining, and enforcing technical baselines; track all configuration changes in the CM database; schedule, facilitate, and document CCB meetings; conduct periodic configuration audits and verify compliance with NIST SP guideline; ensure proper handling of export‑control markings and documentation formats where applicable.

The candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment with frequent and direct interaction with various engineering disciplines and customers. Prior experience in a Configuration/Data Management (CMDM) role is required.

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:​

Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable. Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development. Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use. Develops software configuration standards and policies for company-wide use. Trains software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards. Maintains the Software Configuration Management System including collection or distribution of code documentation, problem report and change request processing, software build documents, and delivery of software products to operational environments. Implements long term organizational objectives for software process improvement (e.g., SEI CMM), compliance with ISO 9000 standards, and software code reuse.

Basic Qualifications

* Minimum 3 years in a Configuration/Data Management (CMDM) role.
* Proficiency with Atlassian suite (Jira, Jira Service Management, ProForma, Confluence).
* Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
* Proven experience working closely with internal and external customers, including subcontractors.
* Prior experience leading Configuration Change Board (CCB) meetings.
* Hands-on experience conducting configuration audits and ensuring adherence to NIST SP 800 53, SP 800 171, and SP 800 128 official guidelines.
* Active Secret clearance required to start (Must be a US citizen).

Desired Skills

* Familiarity with export‑control markings, documentation formatting, and handling.
* Experience managing configuration of both hardware and software assets.
* Prior experience with satellite ground systems design, development, or integration & test
* Strong organizational and detail‑oriented skills; ability to create clear status and tracking reports.
* Development and maintenance of custom CM tools (e.g., scripts, macros, dashboards).
* Experience with collaboration platforms: Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Access databases, and additional Atlassian tools.
* Knowledge of ANSI/EIA‑649 or equivalent configuration and data‑management standards.
* Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations Certified
* Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Pay Information

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.

* Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $106600.00 - $198000.00
* Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
* Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $95900.00 - $178100.00
* Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
* Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $85300.00 - $158300.00
* Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
* Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $76700.00 - $142500.00
