Your opportunity

At Mission Australia, meaningful change helps us strengthen the way we work so we can continue building hope and possibility for people and communities across Australia. As our Change Manager, you will lead the people side of key projects, transformation programs and organisational improvements, partnering with leaders and teams to turn change into lasting outcomes. Through thoughtful change strategies, strong stakeholder engagement and practical support, you will help our people feel informed, equipped and ready to embrace new ways of working.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

- Lead the design and delivery of end-to-end change management strategies and plans that support organisational priorities and successful adoption.
- Assess the impact of change across people, processes and ways of working, tailoring approaches to the scale, complexity and risk of each initiative.
- Partner with leaders, project teams and key stakeholders to build shared ownership and readiness for change.
- Coach and equip leaders to confidently communicate, champion and embed change within their teams.
- Identify learning and capability needs, coordinating practical training, tools and resources to help people adopt new ways of working.
- Monitor change readiness, organisational capacity and change fatigue, proactively addressing risks, issues and barriers to adoption.
- Integrate change activities, risks and milestones into broader project plans, governance and reporting.
- Measure change progress, stakeholder sentiment and adoption, using insights and feedback to refine approaches and strengthen outcomes.

Requirements for success

- At least five years of demonstrated experience in change management, ideally across complex organisational environments.
- Strong end-to-end change management capability, including impact assessments, stakeholder analysis, change planning, communications, learning and benefits realisation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent change initiatives, balancing competing priorities while maintaining quality and momentum.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build trusted relationships with leaders and teams at all levels.
- Strong coaching and leadership capability, with experience supporting leaders to confidently lead their people through change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex change into clear, engaging and audience-specific messages.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data, feedback and insights to identify risks, assess readiness and improve change outcomes.
- Practical knowledge of contemporary change and project management methodologies and tools, with relevant professional certifications such as Prosci, APMG, Agile, Scrum, PRINCE2 or PMP desirable but not essential.
