Role Purpose

We are looking for a Senior Regional Sustainability Manager who wants to be part of a successful and rapidly expanding sustainability team that manages the environmental performance of JLL’s real estate clients across Asia.

The role is an excellent career opportunity as it combines property subject matter expertise, client engagement and thought leadership to support our client’s high-profile sustainability strategies.  This includes delivering the energy and broader sustainability scope within JLL’s overall scope of sustainability service to our clients.

The key deliverables of the role are to drive energy reduction and deliver sustainability programs across our client’s property portfolio.    This involves building a sustainability framework aligned to our client’s sustainability objectives including - energy efficiency, environmental compliance and management, project management, net zero strategic planning, decarbonization, stakeholder engagement, ESG and carbon disclosure, and sustainability assessments.

Career Level Definition

This role requires specialized in-depth sustainability expertise and client engagement experience with senior management exposure.  The successful candidate will lead the development of sustainability services and value propositions, including integrated solutions into a single broad offering.  Demonstrated experience delivering sustainability solutions and services to enhance the building service operation is essential.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

- Providing sustainability strategic guidance to clients to help implement decarbonization projects.
- Manage client engagements focused on developing decarbonization strategies, quantifying potential impacts in energy assessment and modeling, target/goal setting, reporting greenhouse gas emissions, and leading the solution development effort for emissions-based challenges.
- Responsible for the successful development and delivery of all activities related to assigned engagements, with the support of a dedicated delivery team.
- Support client relationships and business development efforts such as proposal development, identifying target clients, and developing solution-based service delivery strategies.
- Collaborating effectively with other service lines on the account (Real Estate, Engineering, Projects and FM) to deliver an integrated energy and sustainability solution to the client.
- Maintaining strong relationships and an appropriate governance structure with key client stakeholders.
- Delivering and overseeing energy and sustainability audit services
- Coordinating effectively with the client to secure funding and approvals for projects, and liaise with project managers, designers and consultants to ensure works are delivered to a high standard.
- Effectively tracking and communicating success stories to ensure a high level of awareness and engagement is achieved with regard to the overall energy and sustainability program.
- Demonstrating innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the client, and ensuring they are rolled out effectively.
- Development and implementation of a Sustainability Service including environmental compliance, ISO management, sustainability data reporting, energy assessment, water efficiency management, waste and recycling program.
- Development and delivery of training and educational materials based on JLL’s best practice knowledge from around the world.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Approximately 10+ years of applicable experience
- Highly entrepreneurial, agile, organized with strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of design, construction, commissioning, MEP and BMS systems in buildings, retrofits, and construction of tenant spaces
- Knowledge of technologies for energy and sustainability initiatives and familiarity with developing business case for investment in energy and sustainability technologies and strategies
- Experience developing business cases for investment in technology or performance optimization (turnkey costs, detailed projected energy savings, ROI, IRR, etc.)
- Working knowledge of global/industry ESG trends and their application in commercial and industrial real estate
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients as well as external team members (architects, contractors, client’s representatives, etc.)
- Ability to develop and cultivate business relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Ability to lead individuals across a national and regional platform to deliver superior results in client service
- Experience working with landlords, developers, tenants, real estate investment managers, and institutional owners
