About this role
Location(s)
- Sydney - New South Wales - Australia
At Siemens, we create technology that transforms the everyday, combining the real and digital worlds to build a smarter, cleaner future. But great technology needs great people to champion it.
As our next Graduate Sales Engineer in Sydney, you won’t just talk about innovation; you’ll bring it to life for our customers. Partnering alongside experienced Account Managers, you’ll help guide complex engineering opportunities from first conversation to successful partnership. If you’re an Electrical or Mechatronics Engineer who loves solving technical puzzles and building authentic relationships—powered by cutting-edge tools like Salesforce and AI—this is your launchpad to drive real business and environmental impact.
About the Program Build real expertise, not just broad exposure
Our 2-year graduate program is designed to help you grow into a confident professional with strong technical capability, commercial competence and lasting connections. Rather than moving through short rotations, you’ll join one team and build depth in your role over time. That means more ownership, stronger mentoring, and a clearer view of how your work contributes to business outcomes.
Why You’ll Love Being Part of Our Team
- Enjoy 36 hours each year for learning and development
- Join us as a permanent team member from day one, with a comprehensive 2-year development program designed to accelerate your growth
- Opportunity to work 2–3 days from home each week with our hybrid work model
- Paid volunteering leave to give back to causes that matter to you
- Family-first culture including up to 16 weeks paid parental leave
- Take part in events, celebrations, and team-building activities to make connections and build your network
What You'll Be Doing
- Take ownership of Tier 2 and Tier 3 customer accounts, building trust, uncovering technical needs and shaping solutions that deliver real value
- Partner directly with Account Managers to shepherd sales opportunities from initial enquiry to a signed order
- Hunt for new opportunities by qualifying leads, prospecting smartly, and uncovering upsell or cross-sell angles within existing accounts
- Master modern sales enablement tools—leveraging Salesforce and AI-driven insights to track your pipeline, map markets, and strategize like a seasoned commercial pro
- Plug into a structured environment where you are supported, challenged, and set up to transition into a full-scale account or sales management path
About You We know that talent comes in many forms, and we welcome applications from people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. You might be a great fit if you bring:
- A degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
- A genuine drive to understand how businesses work, solve customer challenges, and drive sales outcomes.
- Outstanding communication skills and the confidence to pick up the phone, build rapport, and hold meaningful conversations with customers.
- A love for learning, a fascination with new tech and AI, and an eagerness to adopt modern digital tools.
- A proactive, self-starting attitude—you’re curious, hungry to learn, and excited to shape the future of industry.
To be eligible for our graduate program, you’ll need to be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or hold Australian permanent residency at the time of application.
