About this role
Key Accountabilities:
- Conduct Special investigation professionally and timely manner based on information received from Audit Committee, Head of Internal Control, Whistle blowing channel, or from management, or highlighted by financial and operational audit section
- Prioritized special audit based on risk rating and urgency of work referred by SVP-IC.
- Monitor, analyses and present performance, analysis and status report representing departmental performance to Head of Internal Control.
- Review, manage and comply adhoc audit requirements of audit committee and management.
- Direct and facilitate the team for efficient execution of the allocated assignments
- Advise and recommend senior executive and senior management of business units on best practices and corrective measures / areas of improvements.
- Establish and build effective professional association with all business stakeholders, communicate clearly and effectively (both orally and in writing) to ensure implementation of internal controls in an effective and efficient manner.
- Monitor the status of agreed due action plans to ensure proper implementation with the business owners.
- Providing consultancy and support to other departments upon request.
- Planning and managing forensic investigations/ Special and financial audits and in accordance with the internal control procedures.
- Preparing and /or supervise planning of forensic/special & financial audit assignments including objectives and scope and the audit approach.
- Planning and managing audit testing of specified area and identify reportable issues and dimension of risk.
- Reviewing, validating and finalizing observations with the business owners and obtaining action plans and timelines in line with the recommendations.
- Prepare, review, consolidate and issue detailed forensic/special & financial audit reports and summary presentations to the executive management
- Assess the forensic function’s compliance with internal control department’s Manual (policy and procedures).
- Address issues raised through the whistle blowing channels.
- Review the accomplishment of established objectives and goals for forensic function.
- Continuously assess and improve the efficiency of the function with focus on reliability and integrity.
- Prepare updates to the AC on the status of the forensic cases on regular basis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or related discipline from an accredited college / university
- And /or other certification related (CPA/CA/ACCA/CIA) (Preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a in the field of accounting and auditing (8 years for UAE nationals).
- Preferable prior experience in a large size telco domain with detailed understanding of the regional and international best practices.
