Job Description:
Iowa State University Athletics is seeking an inspiring and results‑driven leader to guide our NCAA women’s soccer program with integrity, vision, and a commitment to excellence. The Head Coach oversees all aspects of the program while upholding University, Big 12 Conference, and NCAA policies and advancing the proud tradition and values of ISU Athletics.
Primary duties include:
- Build and maintain a competitive program, cultivating a winning culture grounded in development, accountability, and team success.
- Recruit and retain top student-athletes who demonstrate strong academic preparation and high‑level soccer ability.
- Provide exceptional teaching, mentoring, and coaching to support athletic growth, motivation, and personal development.
- Manage program operations including budget oversight and hiring, supervising, and developing staff.
- Plan and lead effective training, evaluate opponents, set lineups, and make sound competitive coaching decisions.
- Foster a healthy, inclusive team environment that promotes well‑being, development, and academic success.
- Coordinate support services and public engagement to enhance program visibility and success.
- Build strong relationships with campus partners, administrators, alumni, donors, media, and the broader community; and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
This role requires exceptional work ethic, high integrity, and strong leadership, communication, coaching/teaching, motivational, and recruiting skills. Candidates must be committed to multiculturalism and supporting a diverse student‑athlete population. Extensive travel, including overnight stays for recruiting and competition, is required.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience coaching women's soccer at the collegiate or elite/professional level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Successful experience coaching women collegiate soccer athletes at the NCAA Division I and/or II levels.
Demonstrated success building or improving a program, such as conference championships, postseason appearances, or sustained win-percentage growth.
Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop highly skilled student-athletes and have strong recruiting connections.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
