THE ROLE

As a Full-Time Recreation Therapist in La Crosse , you will support individuals with disabilities in our adult day services program. No two days will ever look the same in this position, if you are looking for a fun position where you can make a difference, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

- $19.08/hr

- Full-Time - 40/hours a week

- Flexible Scheduling

- Monday through Friday daytime hours with shifts between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Recreation Therapist, you collaborate with other departments to enrich and enhance the services provided in La Crosse locations. In both onsite and community settings, you review programming and update the curriculum to give our clients the best possible outcomes. While creating therapeutic recreation activities, you strive to ensure that they meet goals for social skills, daily living skills, dexterity, and mobility. You encourage clients with disabilities to acquire new skills and get involved in health-promoting leisure activities, such as sports, dance, games, arts and crafts, and gardening.

You also have the opportunity to conduct staff training related to recreation therapy processes, procedures, and/or techniques to enhance programming. You are a role model and mentor for our Day Service Associates and assist them in maintaining high-performance standards and quality service. No matter how busy your day gets, you feel a strong connection to the purpose of your work and the individuals you serve.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

- Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or equivalent education and/or experience

- Certification through the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification within six months of hire

- Experience working with people with disabilities

- Access to reliable non-public transportation with required insurance coverage
