About this role

Endurance Group is currently seeking experienced applicants for an Operations Specialist position that will support a DoD client at Fort Bragg, NC. The Operations Specialist will directly support the readiness, synchronization, and advanced training cycle preparation of Special Operations Forces (SOF) and joint tactical units operating in complex, contested environments. This position will operate under the technical direction of the Government Training Director and will provide operational planning, exercise coordination, curriculum governance, and technical advisory support. The Operations Specialist will bridge strategic operational guidance and tactical execution, bringing comprehensive operational backgrounds in special operations disciplines, including Irregular Warfare (IW), Counterterrorism (CT), Special Activities (SA), and Partner Forces development. 
Duties & Responsibilities
• Collaborate with government program managers, unit leadership, and interagency partners to formulate and refine comprehensive training plans and multidomain exercise scenarios that mirror contemporary operational challenges. 
• Synchronize training pipelines and unit schedules with the Joint Operational Readiness Training Systems (JORTS) cycles and unit-specific operational tempos (OPTEMPO),
• Conduct site surveys and terrain evaluations to determine training venue suitability, infrastructure availability, and airspace/range constraints.
• Formulate detailed operational risk assessments and risk mitigation metrices for high-risk and complex training evolutions. 
• Coordinate access and operational integration of critical specialized enablers, including muti-discipline intelligence, secure C4ISR systems, specialized operational logistics, tactical mobility, and rotary/fixed-wing aviation assets. 
• Support the onboarding, integration, and mission-tailored operational preparation of newly assigned personnel, augmentees, and interagency liaison officers. 
• Establish, standardize, and maintain the Directorate’s operational Program of Instruction (POI) library and digital repository.
• Develop, update, and institutionalize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) to preserve program continuity across rotating personnel and leadership cohorts.
• Partner with tactical team leads and subject-matter experts (SMEs) to engineer customized training scenarios and delivery platforms for mission support specialist.
• Systematically plan, observe, and document training performance and test & evaluation (T&E) events. Lead detailed AARs to capture actionable lessons learned.
• Draft, coordinate, and deliver high-impact executive summaries, status updates, and strategic briefings to Directorate leadership and General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO) levels.
• Ensure timely preparation, quality assurance, and submission of recurring contract deliverables, milestone reviews, and monthly status reports (MSRs).

Work Schedule & Travel Requirements
• Flexibility is required to accommodate specific exercise timelines, operational surges, off-hour test events, or mission preparation windows.
• Travel (10-15%): periodic travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) and potential Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) deployments is required for:
• On-site exercise execution, observation, and end-user assessments.
• Reconnaissance and logistical evaluations of proposed expeditionary training sites. 
• Interagency working groups, planning conferences, and operational synchronization meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum of ten to fifteen (10-15) years of progressive operational experience within the Department of Defense (DoD), military, or interagency operational environments.
• Demonstrated direct operational or training development experience in one or more core SOF mission areas: Irregular Warfare (IW), Counterterrorism (CT), Special Activities (SA), or Partner Force Operations.
• Thorough familiarity with DoD security directives, OPSEC protocols, controlled unclassified information (CUI), and classified material control systems.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills with proven experience preparing and delivering formal decision briefings to Senior Executive Service (SES) and General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO) leadership.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, Teams).

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience within Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), USSOCOM components, or equivalent joint special operations task forces.
• Direct working knowledge of Joint Operational Readiness Training System (JORTS) planning timelines and specialized SOF deployment prep cycles.
• Experience utilizing Palantir or specialized operational data integration and intelligence analysis platforms.
• Prior experience functioning as a defense contractor in a high-tempo, multi-stakeholder operational environment.
