The Department of Occupational Therapy at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina, is seeking an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator to lead clinical education in our in-person, entry-level Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program, which admits cohorts of 30 students. This is an opportunity to shape a growing fieldwork program and build lasting partnerships across a region with diverse practice settings, including military and veteran health services connected to Fort Bragg, the Cape Fear Valley Health system, rural and community-based practice. You will join a collaborative, student-centered faculty at a university that also includes a School of Medicine and an expanding set of graduate health professions programs.

What you'll do

- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of Level I and Level II fieldwork in alignment with the curriculum design and ACOTE standards

- Build and maintain a strong network of fieldwork sites, including affiliation agreements, site development, and responsive, professional communication with clinical partners

- Train and support fieldwork educators

- Conduct site visits, either virtually or in person

- Manage student placements, fieldwork records, and student compliance requirements (such as immunizations and background checks) using Exxat

- Prepare, advise, and support students before and during fieldwork, including managing remediation and performance concerns

- Serve as instructor of record for fieldwork courses

- Coordinate with the Doctoral Capstone Coordinator to keep fieldwork and capstone experiences aligned

- Use fieldwork outcomes data to inform program evaluation, and contribute to accreditation reports and self-studies

- Teach in your area of expertise and contribute to advising, scholarship, and service.

The position includes dedicated administrative time for fieldwork coordination and a clinical practice day each week, so you can maintain your clinical skills while you teach. Scholarship in fieldwork and clinical education is supported and valued for tenure and promotion.
