As part of a recently awarded ticketing project, Indra has a requirement for a Financial Accountant (Fixed Assets) to play a key role in the financial management of the NGT Fixed Assets and the establishment of robust financial governance and control and to provide strategic financial insights to senior management and project stakeholders.
Reporting directly to the Indra Ireland Senior Financial Accountant, the individual will also work closely with the Implementation Services Manager (Project Manager).
This role of the Financial Accountant (Fixed Assets) is crucial for ensuring accurate recording and reporting of the NGT Fixed Assets. Initially, this role will have a strong focus on fixed asset accounting, capital expenditure governance, and asset controls, supporting a significant transformation and investment programme. As the business and programme mature, the role will evolve to offer broader exposure across financial reporting, business partnering, project accounting, process improvement, and wider finance activities, providing excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression
This role has significant client facing responsibilities and therefore we require an individual who is comfortable in this type of role and who is flexible to work at client offices in Dublin, as required.
The Financial Accountant (Fixed Assets) shall have responsibility & accountability for (including but not limited to) the below:
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register.
- Manage asset additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, and impairments.
- Ensure accurate capitalisation of project and technology expenditure.
- Support month-end, year-end, and statutory reporting processes.
- Monitor and report on capital expenditure against approved budgets.
- Prepare fixed asset reconciliations and management reporting.
- Support internal and external audits, providing required documentation and analysis.
- Drive improvements to fixed asset processes, controls, and reporting.
- Support the production and delivery of quality finance documentation including financial design and proposals for presentation to the Indra Senior Finance Manager, Indra project team and client stakeholders
- Develop and report high-quality financial management reports, financial analysis and key performance indicators to Indra management including the Senior Finance Manager, Senior Financial Accountant, Project Account Manager and Implementation Services Manager (Project Manager)
Note: The functions and responsibilities initially assigned to the position are based on the current organisational requirements and may be changed from time to time. The person appointed requires the flexibility to fulfil other roles and responsibilities at a similar level within Indra.
Requirements
The role requires the individual to have demonstratable experience across change control, incident management, exception management, and high-volume transactions management.
Essential requirements
- A professional accountancy qualification and be admitted to membership of a recognised professional body of accountants
- 2+ years’ experience working in a finance role, (Finance Business, Finance Analyst, Financial Accountant) with demonstrable experience With Fixed Asset accounting
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, and knowledge of project financial management
- Knowledge of data analytics and financial modelling
- Strong Excel skills
- Flexible and adaptable with experience working within a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
Desirable attributes
- An understanding of public sector accounting, public transport ticketing technology or the ability to quickly acquire such understanding
- Have demonstrable experience working in a high-volume transaction environment
- Experience with Maximo or other asset management software,
- Have experience in contract management.
